Incident changed him and made him distance himself from the rage s*** which is understandable. Unfortunate but it is what it is

Not sure it made him do that lol

His current show is pretty f***ing wild. The entire floor is a mosh pit

  • Dec 27, 2023

Bait thread what I will say is that he’s in a weird space where he’s commercially successful and certainly still in the forefront but is almost blackballed by these publications like rolling stone and pitchfork lol don’t know how to describe it

i think travis could have sold a million first week if he had dropped before astrofest. the fact he would have sold like 750k if all his physicals shipped first week is pretty insane.

It didn’t. He’s still promoting moshpits and going wild at his shows, just not calling for them and the extended stage makes for less congestion. The show I went to was just as wild as Astroworld with just more room

I don’t see where the utopia came and went s*** is coming from?

It’s literally either the first or second biggest rap album of 2023. Anyone falsely saying it came and went is really making a comment on the state of the genre more than anything about Travis specifically

  • Dude is just like Midrick Lamar..Drops a recycling bin classic after a five year wait

It’s not even a comment on the state of the genre imo. I think people’s attention spans are f***ed. If something isn’t in your face and constantly trending then it came and went.

True, but I think if people are saying that the biggest rap album of the entire year came and went, then they’re saying every rap album this year came and went because no other 2023 rap release was as successful overall as Utopia

Same concept applied to that argument in the Ye apology thread yesterday. Bro called him irrelevant because not everything he says or does is MSG level lmao

I was talking more musically. Utopia is a more chilled out Travis. I fully believe that the version of Utopia that existed before the incident was way more wild

Y’all need to first stop being dense and acting like Travis Scott’s music is widely considered to be “Rap”

If I had an award show I wouldn’t even know what genre to place him in.

I can barely think of a classic “rap” bar or freestyle from him. Wouldn’t you consider him to be more of a Kid Cudi, Post Malone artist rather than a “rapper” in its traditional sense? There’s your answer.

Anyone would describe Travis Scott as a rapper. Especially Utopia, where’s he mostly rapping on that album more than any other project in his discography

Fr, he’s never gonna lose that core fanbase.

He’ll do 200K+ easily for the rest of his career

We don’t realistically need any more Travis Scott music

The show + the music was far from chill dawg. Just go to one and you’ll see. Only like 3-4 songs on the album are “chill” anyways lmao
