Is it seriously a “surprise” that a horror movie especially Evil Dead is funny nowadays? A lot of them are too scared of playing things straight because they don’t want to challenge an audience anymore.

Expecting this to be a fun one time watch though

We went from torture p*** era to elevated horror in my lifetime. The funny horror we're getting now hadn't been preeminent since the 80s and 90s.

As evidenced by the 2013 Evil Dead reboot not being funny. Lee Cronin who did the last Evil Dead just put out The Mummy which also isn't funny.

Just checked and yeah it was an electric knife never mind. But yeah I remember that s*** was hilarious cuz she didn’t even have to do that and then dude a few scenes later jus says “she just cut her f***ing arm off” after her friend tells her she gotta do some crazy s*** lol
