Horror movie of the year so far
This and Obsession are locked on my yearly mt Rushmore for horror. Resident Evil and Werwulf will probably take the other tow but I have a few on the radar to monitor like October from Saulnier

I think my top 4 will be evil dead, clayface, resident evil, and werwulf
Solid. Felt like something was missing in a way. Not bad. Not great. Don't see myself watching again.
solid 7/10 but the first 20 minutes are dog ass
The beginning I feel they could have used that time to introduce the characters better to make us care. It felt really oddly acted and written like an early 2000s horror movie in a bad way. Due to that later when they are all dealing with horrific incidents I was just like "whatever ".
Few eyerolling moments throughout. Again not terrible. I feel about a solid 7/10 too. There were highlights but key things that keep it from being great for me.

yeah the dialog in the character setup scenes had a very student film energy. kinda threw me off.
while i liked most of the gore scenes i thought they lost it with the final confrontation. the husband literally looked like CG Vecna from Stranger Things. it felt more generic horror villain and less Evil Dead deadite.
Overall Rise is def better imo

All of this
When are you going lol
I went last night and I really did not think it was bad at all. Kinda funny
When they arrive at the house and there’s a few ancillary shots strung together of random nooks and crannies… that s*** scared me lmao. This was shot really really good
