starting to upload some more footage from the hundreds of gigs I've been to the past years and this is def up there with my fav moments.
Yousuke surprised the crowd at Berlin Atonal festival 2023 with a set entirely devoted to the goat Ryuichi Sakamoto who passed that year. this was during the Friday club night in Kraftwerk, a huge abandoned power plant which makes for a crazy setting and acoustics
Yousuke really went deep into his catalog, the highlight was playing out Sakamoto's entire (15min) 1992 Olympic opening ceremony music, which I have some clips of below

for more info on Yousuke, resident advisor just published an in-depth profile on his career and an interview about his DJ craft this week

you can only do up to 15 tags a post, otherwise the site randomly picks for you if you go over

dope that youre sharing
footage, thumbnails n write-up is hard af
bugged me for a while that there still wasn't anything on youtube, such an incredible set.
it felt really transgressive to just blast Sakamoto's avant-garde classical in the club like that, and especially in that unique setting. I hope my vids capture a lil bit of the magic

The setting and light work of the show is so sick
I only know a lil about him (and do like what lil I've heard) but the vids are sick

This dude is dope. He was shutting down downtown Tokyo and doing free Palestine sets I think it was last year.
Touching tribute to a legend.
