nice list bro
you got a discogs by any chance?
Been meaning to start on for the longest I need to get on that
been wondering this, if i were to get a reissued new copy of Dark Side of The Moon or Abbey Road for example and kept it unopened would it ever be worth anything in the future?
It will be worth more of course but If you're looking for a DSOTM to invest in, I suggest copping low numbered UK pressings, A2/B2 if you're lucky. They're the best sounding versions imo

it took me a minute to catalog everything but it's worth it

and its better to start it now rather than when your collection gets too large

i started cataloging when i had like 300 records. i pulled an all-nighter just to figure that s*** out

this must've been so satisfying tho

i bet my guy lol luckily i started when i was like 15-20 deep. By that point, i had already bought 2 records off discogs so it just made since log my own stuff there

it really was. i loved going through my collection and finding out the different pressings and all that
speaking of, do yall organize yalls records alphabetically or otherwise on the shelves? i typically group an artist's albums together but, other than that, i keep it a bit random and will shuffle things around just so im not reaching for the same places each time and to rediscover records i had been overlooking

I got two boxes (hip hop and everything else) and combine them roughly by subgenres (hip hop) or that and rarity (everything else)

my friend does it like that. it looks really nice but i'd have a hard time finding my albums

Yeaaa lol it’s definitely more for aesthetics but yeah it looks pretty neat
new pickups. think im gonna stop buying records for the time being. I already decided on my next 10 records to buy so let's see when the time is right
this is my favorite Slayer album and this pressing is fantastic and I always wanted to get it. Lionel record was super cheap and still sealed. Kraftwerk is my s/o's pick

I’m at around 70 records I think when I tip over 100 and have a huge collection, I’ll go alphabetical. Rn I can find things kinda easy

nice pickups mane those are classics
that's good you have self-control with buying albums. i had a phase where i'd buy non-stop and it became an addiction. s*** was killing me but now i usually buy when i see deals at yard-sales/record stores or if it's an album I really love. VMP has some nice ROTM options too

beware of these small audiophile labels like The Electric Recording Company and Supersense who'll charge you $400 for a crumby master of an album you could find a better version of for a fraction of the price

i do it alphabetically by artist(s), and then chronologically by origjnal release date

thanks! here's what helped me in when I was struggling with buying too much records: all these albums somehow made their way to me at this point in time, so I'll probably be able to get them again if I want to. now I estimate how likely am I to get a particular album in the future and mostly buying something that's cheap, rare, or worth the price
for example I've not seen this Slayer record for a while until it resurfaced for an okay price. figured I dont wanna chase it again so I copped. sometimes it backfires tho: good luck finding Maggot Brain for anything less that $50 without shipping, or any popular Parliament/Funkadelic album for that matter. hope all of it makes sense lol
