I know it’s cooler to fantasize about someone writing or producing everything by themselves. But it’s not real. Singers get help, producers get help, book writers and screenwriters too. The people who are telling you this are lying are exaggerating their talent. That doesn’t mean you aren’t talented. Or that you are incapable of writing all by yourself. At the end of the day, believe what you want, the most important thing is how these rappers music make you feel lol.

if one of Drake’s shining accomplishments people want to use when comparing to Cole or Kendrick is that he writes the majority of his songs which includes a more versatile range of sounds than the other two
it definitely hurts him being put in those top lists if more comes out
That has nothing to do with him as a commercial popular artist or any metrics that pertain to it (sales, streams, etc). idk why ppl are backtracking and pretending like it doesn’t matter since its not a “personal” or “timestamp” song
It does matter anyone that says otherwise is kidding themselves. S*** sucks because it just goes back to the point of unnecessarily pumping out music rather than just taking your time like nobody is going to doubt Drake can make a good album if he gives himself the time to go through the process. I don’t even think collaboration is a bad thing inherently but this just comes off as sloppy for at the very least not keeping it in house and at most potentially just taking an entire structure of a song and using it with minimal changes
