Damn did the med system stop after legalizing? Here med patients have a different set of legal protections. Even though its fully legal.
Like i can carry 5 ounces in public, instead of the 1 ounce everyone else is limited to. I can smoke anywhere you smoke cigarettes, take sublinguals or edibles literally anywhere, it’s considered discrimination if people comment on or discipline me for getting high during a job (as long as its not heavy machinery) i can get high on airplanes.
Theres some other stuff too but that’s the major ones

I have no idea but basically anyone smokes wherever you can smoke a cigarette and there's no reason to like employ a personal grower anymore and it's so cheap everyone just buys whatever they feel like ig

I know the inner city here is like that but maybe it's a bit more strict once you hit rural areas. I can see cops still harassing smokers and I don't know if there's legal areas in public like that, in the city you can just smoke anywhere outside

I have literally objectively have the best weed and dabs on earth. And unlike the US, its all federally regulated so when they say its 34% thc or 16% terpenes, it has to be.

Yes some of their products are available to the general public depending on where you live in canada. If you dont live in quebec or somewhere isolated you should be able to find a similar selection!
I almost exclusively dab though.
My only complaint is the price of flower. But the live resin prices are the same as the black market generally.
I also dont have access to cool new thc isolates like thc-P which is 33X stronger than thc. But thats too much for me i dont need anything that strong.

But i still have CBG CBN CBD and CBC isolates and tinctures which is what i care about the most.

Oh damn montreal isnt like that. Like nobody says anything but it is technically illegal to smoke it outside of your own property. Which is bs because everyone lives in smoke free apartments downtown so it allows the police ot just selectively ticket and harass who they wish.

Not trying to be a buzzkill, but I feel like no one talks about some of the side effects that come with smoking all the time. Everyone’s like, “It’s natural,” but that doesn’t make it totally harmless. Just saying… if you’re smoking daily, you might wanna think about what it’s doing to your brain and body.

I read that if you start young or smoke heavy, it can actually mess with brain development and might even bring out stuff like anxiety, depression, or even psychosis (for real, not just the stereotypical “paranoid high”). Plus, dependency is real. People act like weed isn’t addictive, but if you’ve tried cutting back and struggled, you know what I’m talking about.

Then there’s Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome—basically where you end up getting these crazy nausea/vomiting episodes from smoking too much. Imagine thinking you’re smoking to chill and instead you’re sick all the time. I know it’s rare, but still. Stuff’s wild.

Anyone else ever think about this? Or feel like it’s lowkey sketch how normalized daily smoking is?

that sucks so much ass. Im at a smoke free apt right now but if I have someone over with a joint or something we just smoke right where all the cig smokers smoke, and all over the city you can just light up wherever. We mainly smoke in front of a busy bar/venue place in one of the most busy areas of the city, and a bunch of other people do too (including the workers and random band members)

the smell complaints are pretty minimal online from what ive seen compared to other places too. this isnt even 'the weed' city in my state either

since edibles are like 20 cents per 20mg gummie at this point thats all I need. I always have a few disposable vapes too but they last ages and I sometimes just throw them out to get a new flavor. The breeze ones are good and I think ozone has a 2g rosin one for like 20 bucks or something thats fine

I fw you a lot and this is coming from someone who has had psychosis, but is also perscribed 4 grams of weed a day from the doctor.
And it’s not like California where they give everyone a med card, in canada theyre fairly strict about perscribing it and it’s based in scientific data.

But if it was that harmful, doctors wouldnt be prescribing it like that to take everyday.
People have been consuming large quantities of very potent weed for thousands of years. People have been smoking very potent hash, like 30-50% thc or more for thousands of years. And its true there could be some side effects we dont know about to dabbing all day everyday for 50 years, but its a very well studied plant with a good safety profile. The odds of that are on the lower side.

As far as addiction goes, addiction is an external thing.
People can use weed in a way that limits their functioning in their daily life for sure. But it’s still relatively benign and theres no dependency or anything. People might dislike changing their habits and routines around it, but that can be true for literally anything. Ive gone years of smoking, years without smoking. It’s nothing compared to say quitting nicotine or anything. If most people feel the need to smoke all day everyday there is probably some external reason their self medicating for and they should probably see a doctor to see if that’s the best decision for them. In a lot of cases it is. It’s just medical practise is behind and outdated in a lot of places so people dont have the option to hear an unbiased and educated opinion on whats best for them.

What im trying to say is, its peoples behaviour thats the issue, not that weed is addictive, its fairly safe and well studied, but not entirely risk free. If you dont have a direct history of psychosis, youre pretty much in the clear. And even with that, you can still smoke it you just have to take cbd with it and talk to a doctor to make sure its a good idea for you.
It’s pretty safe and benign.

Thats crazy usa prices are like half to a fifth of Canadian prices. Thats the only thing holding canada back from everyone switching from the black market.
I dont get why theyre so greedy either. S*** is a plant, it cost as much a s f***ing lettuce to make but they stil charge the prices that were inflated by all the people charging premiums breaking the law to get it to you.
They shoudl regulate it and make it so you need to have certain 40$ an ounce options and stuff.
Also none of that money goes to the owners of the shops, the mom and pop owners. They can barely keep afloat. It’s too bad tbh

Yeah thanks to my state (and the others to a point), new strategies of selling it are being copied all over and we will see mass reform sooner than later across most western nations. People here are very happy the taxes are pouring so much cash into never ending problems like road repairs and schools.

The price I mentioned was years ago, it's not difficult to find ounces around 30 or an ounce of shake for around 15 now. It still feels bizarre, and idk the details but we are raking in massive amounts of taxes doing it this way and alcohol use is going down to the point of our states "beer scene" feeling like it's slowing down for the first time in decades, and beer is one of the number 1 things most think of regarding iconic products here

Also the current rates I mention are from Cookies which I swear had a reputation of being expensive. I went the first time, saw those prices, but walked out with 2 breeze dispos and about 25 bags of 10x 20mg gummies for $110 or less (using new customer coupons of course and some deal on the edibles, 42 degrees brand, their taste is mid but are dosed perfectly)

I also hear budtending is as profitable or more profitable than bartending at busy bars these days with better hours, those tip jars are overflowing every time

Yeah canada will fall behind heavily if they dont copy this buisness model. I think they keep the price so high here because the government is bought out by alcohol and tobacco companies and it cuts into their profits. Also it gives the police something to do, by still creating a black market.
I genuinely hope it changes. At least we still have like excellent weed and everything though

It was super expensive here at first, I bought from growers until maybe 2 years after it went legal. Hopefully Canada follows suit

Even with the "give cops something to do" defence it'll be recognized as throwing away money sooner than later. It just takes one a***yst to be like look at all the taxes being thrown away
