I like eastern philosophy more but dont really understand it as much as I know about western philosophy

I like the holistic/non duality of it all

also, I always felt like African philosophy is excluded from the east/west conversation. Which honestly resonates with me more

I just found out about a book called African Religions and Philosophy (1975): By John Mbiti thats really interesting heres a quote

according to Ubuntu philosophy, which has

    • its origins in ancient Africa, a newborn baby is not a person. People are born without
'ena, or selfhood, and instead must acquire it through interactions and experiences over time.
So the 'self'/'other' distinction that's axiomatic in Western philosophy is much blurrier in Ubuntu thought.
  • I like big butts and I cannot lie

  • eastern

    hinduism mainly

  • Eastern with a big butt

  • generally prefer eastern. the whole fixation about dominating over nature and individualism that characterizes western philosophy is incredibly wack

philosophy in general is pretty mid though
