people hate nocturnal animals? doubt
lol got hate from everyone except critics upon release
Did we watch the same movies lol.. TLJ is probably the most divisive thing in the franchise
AotC is more like the New Workout Plan of Star Wars
New Workout Plan is one of Ye's most creative songs. Attack of the Clones is rather bland.

Wrong. Attack of The Clones is brimming with creativity. Bland is way more appropriate for something like Return of The Jedi or most of the Disney stuff.

Crazy.. might be a top 10 thriller of the 10s

nah. Sure, it doesn't follow the same formula in many ways but the direction is trash.
Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie)
Domino (Tony Scott)
Temple of Doom (Steven Spielberg)
To The Wonder (Terrence Malick)
The Lone Ranger (Gore Verbinski)

How is the direction trash? There’s even sequences lifted directly from The Searchers. The only bad direction you could point to is in how Lucas directs his actors which is intentional to replicate the style of old Hollywood and silent cinema to a degree with Christianson being the character actor James Deen/Brando stand out to juxtapose the other more reserved performances. I get that Lucas’s idiosyncrasies are alienating but I think his approach is mistaken for sloppy direction or awkward indulgence rather than a particular stylistic choice. See if my Letterboxd review of it resonates. I tried to make a compelling argument.

I don't find his direction that idiosyncratic here. Especially when compared to say A New Whope or American Graffiti (I guess that's my main gripe). Plenty of directors quoted The Searchers. Idk I just find it extremely tedious.

i accidentally saw love cause it was listed as the wrong movie on one of them free sites lol
I like AOTC tbh. Better than TPM, ep 6 and all the Disney stuff
i give tpm a pass cause i was a kid, but it was also like the first so they didn't really know how to take s***, but idk
crackhead puppet yoda tho lol

I understand. That makes sense

I meant in the sense that its really dumb but enjoyable

I like it for the most part. I think all the dull politics stuff is interesting and visually it’s neat.
The lightsaber fights, the podrace and the underwater parts are cool
Everytime someone speaks I wanna blow my head off. The dialogue is atrocious and Lucas is the pinnacle example of a creative guy who needs to be constantly reined in.

yeah i dig 2 and 3 is my fav SW movie tbh. 3 and 5 the best ones I'd say

the podrace
imagine a quality standalone of like the podracing scene
