It would probably be a list of under 5. Artists are either too p**** to step outta line and make a change or are in favor of the evil
no
Two people who already make stuff like that. Versus imagining Frank Ocean as an acivist
Might go to this album listening club thing this week in my city where they're discussing this. Been meaning to tap into marvin gaye more. The "i want you" album is INSANE. This one too the arrangements

Definitely do. Revisiting what’s going on has made my past few weeks easier
Saying all this doomed s*** and then saying “within the mainstream anyways” just negates all of it
how so? im just saying mainstream artists aren't as political in their music because it doesnt appease what labels want them to put out
you'll find niche artist or bedroom musicians making that kind of music but it wont captivated in mainstream pop culture
this thread making me sad @op i genuinely wonder why trying things is so looked down upon right now.
I'd rather have political music that ends up a little cringe than not.
Honestly a solid 1/4 to 1/3 of random hardcore/punk bands no one has ever heard of with a couple hundred followers from their little town/city/scene
None of them blow up or get any more listeners than that and it feels like something is happening to prevent it
The band got cancelled before any more records went out
I totally misread this the first time
I’ll fix this later lol
Bon Iver
John Mayer
Luke Combs
Eddie Vedder
Adele
