really distinctive style and tone that contrasted really well with his music. while his music is sometimes super complex or jazz or avantgarde his guitar is really raw and even violent sometimes while still really melodious. and provides a huge part of the emotion in his music

very influential as a guitarist but feel like that impact didnt really hit til a few decades later

Not in a personality split (although I do think it adds more negativity to his prone for bipolar) but as a person trying to wear too many hats that are too much in vastly different spaces and expectations - that will drive a lot of people at least a bit crazy and irritable

I think it's a combo of a lot of stuff, but I think most of it comes from trauma - sexual, near death and feeling of hopelessness when Kim got kidnapped trauma that exacerbates his already issues that exist in some way but those moments mutant them into worse forms and he indulged in the worst aspects

He seems to be doing a lot better now tho, just like during JIK era, hopefully this time it's a more permanent healthy response that lasts and he can use n look back on in those future moments he might be feeling he's going out of control

he's one of my fave guitarists and the passion and sincerity he puts into his playing is a nice contrast with the goofy songs
