im ngl the 90s is my all time favorite decade
from atmospheric jungle, to boom bap, to the peak white girl music, video games, cool technology and y2k futuristic aesthetic, it rly is the most sentimental period i think
for posters who were actually old enough to sort of experience that era, what was it like? am i right for thinking its the GOAT decade?

theres something so ethereal and timeless about these tracks. s/o air and portishead too
i think the aesthetic crossed over into the early 2000s too which was when i was a jit, that was so f***in amazing bruh

Born in 92’, so experienced the world in a***og, and as it switched to digital…
People being outside is really the main thing that calls back to me. I can remember being outside damn near all day in the summer. There use to be a lot of picnics, and block parties in Chicago.
Op not sure if black, but i do recommended this channel

if you not black oh well its bhm
In terms of pop culture, assuming you black, it was really the golden age of sitcoms. All of em were hitting.
Use to have black outs in the city man. Whole neighbors the power would just go out for like 2-4 hours if it got hot enough in the summer. You had to go to the corner store n get a big bag of ice before they sold out

Yeah I was gonna basically say, the difference in the way you would just live day to day is one of the biggest things to me.
Like I remember when I first discovered internet forums existed in like '02 or so, and my little mind was blown that you could just touch base with a whole bunch of people with similar interests from the comfort of your own living room/study/whatever
24 years later and here I still am, I guess
Before then it really was just like... you'd hope to stumble upon someone interested in the same stuff as you by total luck lmao
I feel like if we're just talking being a kid/teen the real demarcation is before and after smartphones.
i like browsing r/decadeology/ and i was born right before 2000.
but based off what ive read, it was peak america before 9/11 killed the vibes
