there’s a lot of historical tension between black community and asian immigrants who have historically moved into lower-income neighborhoods and become small bourgeois because they (asian capitalists) could not compete directly with the dominant white capitalist class

this is an umbrella but many things can stream from here, especially in the context of the “model minority” Asian perceptions and historical black disenfranchisement that traces much deeper than anti-immigration.

It’s clear the media is using this historical precedence though to push more division, especially in a time where it could be easy for many marginalized groups to rally around.

Stop Asian Hate in 2021 around COVID/George Floyd also got pushed unsurpisingly heavy when there were mass calls for solidarity against racism, police brutality, etc..

Eh, if this is the reason, it ain't really an Asian vs black thing. This what the white folks want us to think.

Minorities should never be against each other in America.

This is like when they tried to make it seem like Black people were against Asians because of a few isolated incidents where the victims just happened to be Asian during the lockdown/social distancing days.

Not to say that Asian immigrants don't have negative views of black people, hell folks here complain about the negative views that African immigrants have against black Americans, but they never go to extent that whites do in regards to actively going out their way to keep black people down whether it be via policy, murder, vandalism, etc. Will always be a live and let live kind of relationship even if you don't like the other. In contrast, with whites, they're always trying to make sure black people remain at the bottom by any means necessary

  • My opinion is we shouldnt encourage people to do dumb s*** like hate crimes regardless of race

  • Likely gonna be a temporary thing mostly for social media and then fade into a nothing burger once something else comes up

Those vids are ppl telling others to shop elsewhere, sounds good for likes and vid shares but most ppl not letting no one tell them where to shop and shop based on convenience price and location

  • Sounds like none of my business, I have a work call soon anyways

  • Outrage generates engagement

  • I've been boycotting Asian restaurants for a while now and not associated with the present reason but the food mid over here

  • UncMC

This isn’t some grand conspiracy. Within the community this is a normal reaction being inflamed by recent movements of black ownership within the community(buying back the block)
A black child was falsely accused of theft and chased multiple football fields to be murdered by an Asian shop owner and was let off by the state
Should be glad boycotting is the first reaction

Damn, common sense and not reactionary. I ain't know this was still here
