I did this video about how I miss longer songs and how they’re something we somewhat lost to the streaming era.
On top of attention spans being shorter and algorithms favoring shorter works, for example Father Stretch My Hands Pt 1 and Pt 2 being divided into two songs has generated at least an extra $1 million in streaming revenue because it counts as two songs
I’m hopeful as artists rely less on streaming that we might see more artists get ambitious and bring back the two parter
This is one of my favorites

What’s yours

Pyramids is the goat 2 part song, but one recent song that doesn't quite fit the description but comes to mind is Hey Now

Hey Now is the best song on GNX and one of Kendrick's best. The rise in energy and just the transformation the song goes through, it gets a lot done in only 3 minutes but it does capture the magic that great longer songs have without actually being long (maybe it's long for today's standards smh)

Also my favorite song on GNX, it’s only 3:38 tho so it really packaged all that evolution and build into the tightest runtime possible
