sample heavy production and completely original production are two completely different ball games

now i'm not saying alchemist is bad because he uses samples, but i will say looping a couple samples is easier than making a full beat from scratch.

sure, ppl can still go dilla with the samples. Like i think a lot of what nujabes, dilla, the avalanches, etc. do is some really impressive and talented stuff. Throw DJ Premier in there too.
