Jay-Z - sounds exactly the same live as on record. Not so much energy but with classics spanning from several decades he is the unfisputed GOAT

Cole - more energy live and a fantastic performer

    Kendrick - same as above

Ye - the whole performance is his highlight but his rapping and voice live is mid.

Last point is true now but in his prime Ye was a better performer than all of those guys

  • Battle rappers should qualify. Closest rap comes to theater imo

Yeezus era was the peak of his vocal performance
Maybe he should wear a mask again

How many old white men are carved into mt Rushmore? Is it 4?

    Yasiin Bey
    Andre 3000
    DOOM
    Cam’ron

I feel that covers everything I need from humor, skill, charisma, subject matter, and personality.

    Not hating on Cam'Ron

But I approve DOOM, Dante & 3K heavily
All in my top 10 for my normal list (although Mach may have supplanted Dante)

    Edit:
Although DOOM sent an impostor when was planning to see him, Mos was a bad show when I saw him, 3K was superb!!!!!!!

travis isn’t “good” in the traditional sense, but he does put on a great show and captures the vibe of his music well.

lol oh s*** I skimmed the title and didn’t see the part about performing

I would still put mos and 3k in there for live performance. Sorry about your Mos experience. He is one of the best live that I’ve seen truly.

But with this in mind, I never saw DMX or Pac live, but they really had incredible voice command and energy from the footage I’ve seen.

I strangely love the DOOM poster fiasco lolll. It’s such a funny wrinkle in his character.

And? lol, it’s live performance footage.

At their best, 2pac and DMX getting most of the names listed itt outta here.

Jay Z is being name dropped in here, and it’s unanimous fact DMX was crushing him every stop on the Hard Knock Life tour.

If it’s just people I’ve seen live:
    Mos
    3k
    Kanye
    Tyler

most people living they life through a screen just think you can dig deeper and give a more honest opinion and assessment off s*** you actually experienced in real life which should be the point of these lists imo as opposed to just parroting opinions in rap we know gone be taken well

expands the conversation past the usual lists and gives other artists their flowers in hiphop

lol, I guess that is true…but no shame in digging into history and seeing how artists before our time were doing it.

I feel that entirely…it’s hard to deny a nigga like DMX impact live or HOV ability to command an acapella live…i guess I just view “lists” in a specific, personal way and value putting that personal touch into your list more than common names
