I think the culture needs to hit some sort of refresh the whole atmosphere feels so saturated. When Cudi came up pushing boundaries by just being himself it never felt forced.

Travis probably the closest one. We might not ever see the same authenticity that the blog era brought again.

No shade and not to sound corny because I kinda see what you’re saying but do people really have an emotional connection to Travis Scott’s music like that? Like Cudi was notoriously emotional in his music which is what built that rapport I don’t get that vibe from Trav at all

ill be honest because this sounds crazy but at a time in my life where i felt like nothing connected with the sounds and vibe trav puts out connects with me. idc about anything he says but the first time i heard love sick was an out of body experience. like that trippy guitar sample or whatever is in goosebumps is a feeling i had deep inside me at one point. just something about the sound and vibe and energy speaks to me better than words sometimes

Feel like the closest was Juice or X but there was never any real equivalent, Cudi is one of a kind imo

This is from a stylistic standpoint not a personality one btw

Uzi, influential, bit of a trainwreck of a human—has a lot of classic material, mentally a teenager

There's no connection to anything about his music. He's just leeches off Ye and Cudi's musical influence.

Everything about him is a whole clone of Future and Thug after Owl Pharaoh imo

That’s valid. I don’t think it’s fair to blankety apply a label to an artist because music can connect for anyone. I do think it is fair to say Cudi had way more substance in his music (at least back then) which equates to the “Cudi saved my life” memes

    Imo, Travis is Anti-Cudi.
He represents the opposite of what Cudi preaches against in his music.
