it is though if you’re black

I shouldn’t even have to begin to explain why it’s complicated but you clearly lack empathy for d*** users and the fact these health issues can be avoided but they may not trust hospitals for other reasons, such as the complicated nature by which one gets to that point, especially a rapper who may come from a systemic problem (racism) that enabled them to be a “junkie” but to you, it’s just simple black and white

like I said, you not tryna have a discussion. you have your beliefs you have led yourself to believe about d*** use and have come in to shut down conversations. have a blessed day lmfao

Read my previous post again bud

he spent 20 minutes reading articles about this and the only ones posted in OP are known addicts

"wow people that rap about d*** abuse, abuse d****!!"

the fact it took 20 mins to come to that point is hilarious

you don’t know anything about any of those artists upbringing that led them to then become a d*** user. that was the main point of the question if you white ass niggas took a step back and reflected on the systemic oppression everyone in OP may have faced in their life to get to that point and how that pressure and lifestyle has found its way into hiphop as the only way to keep up with the joneses and in reverse the people don’t have the knowledge or trust in going to a hospital to schedule a regular doctors visit as they continue to destroy their bodies in a life they didn’t even build but have been systemically forced to keep up with

    you nigga STINK once again

nigga got 2 likes in less than a minute, there’s niggas ITT who don’t even agree with the thread and just missing the point cause you think all niggas who do d**** are just junkies

yea that’s what the article was saying

that and the fact most black people don’t trust hospital when you throw in medical racism

medical racism is a prevalent issue, however I think it’s a huge overgeneralization to say “most black people don’t trust hospitals” which is a lot different than saying black people or other marginalized groups may have higher rates of being more slower to approach professionals about issues, delaying care, or prefer pcp that are more culturally similar, but that is a lot different than your statement.

And many people may have an issue with the institution or overall systematic bias, while still holding good relationships with their personal clinics, nurses, doctors. And then to add on the black people working within the healthcare system more broadly

most of my family are doctors

I’m stating what my uncles, aunts and cousins who are doctors would state about most people in our community. majority would rather ride it out than go to a hospital first, this isn’t even generalizing it’s literally just a thing. my uncle has had to do a lot of in house calls for this very reason. I wasn’t saying it to judge, just an observation that you can kinda back up when you look at conditions that could have been caught early within the community if regularly attending the doctors was an already taught principle. but again, thanks to the system, niggas haven’t even been able to learn this let alone themselves and so once a d*** you intake gives you that relief you’re seeking, why would you ever care to go to a hospital to find out how it’s killing you if you’re already not aware that you’re actually living a junkie life to begin with?

A combination of d***/alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet, scrutiny from tabloid media, touring fatigue, stress from curating music/making with label executives happy, and possibly childhood trauma

  • May 30, 2025

A lot of ailments mentioned in OP.

I can think of only one cure...

Now he going off and assuming we dont care about black people, or dont have empathy for d*** users cause we're flaming his thread

  • May 30, 2025

    thread incredible already

  • Going beyond the “drug addict” thing, it’s probably sought out by seeing a lot of success, pressure, stay creative, and a loss of reality at a very young age. If you don’t have a strong foundation (family, trust worthy people, etc.), it’s very easy to get far gone especially in a creative space like music.

  • May 30, 2025

Normal people have these issues too

Add fame, d****, groupies and millions to that and it’s not hard to see.

Musician occupation has very fast diminishing returns. Niggas be MISERABLE on them tours lololol

d*** use and promoting a healthy lifestyle would go against everything they’ve portrayed/known growing up lol

that and most have the mindset of they’re gonna be the way they are forever until one day they realize they’re old now

  • Lifestyle plus touring. That takes a toll.

But by doing that you lead to interactions like 1st page. Black artists have been dealing with health problems and d*** usage as a way to cope since the 50s.

Nobody talks about how industry heads like Berry Gordy are likely to never see heaven because of what he did to Florence of the Supremes.

Being put in a position where you are being exploited 24/7 is a mentally draining process where anyone would run to the bottle or the pills or anything to cope. Usually at the expense of their health. That’s why a LOT of your fav musical entertainers never retire, they usually just die younger than you expected.

Tl;dr: everything Big Chap said at the Grammies can literally be applied to this thread

its not just rap its life

  • Rappers are still artists and artists always feel pain on a deeper level than most regardless of how hard the exterior.

Stress from tour and lack of sleep (What killed michael)

  • May 30, 2025

pinpointing this on d*** use as some users did is extremely ignorant imho lol because d*** usage always comes with the inherent question of why do the people feel the need to abuse d**** and that is a much shorter pathway to finding out the true roots of the problem and its in most cases trauma, ptsd, depression etc. thats the cause of peoples problems

d**** can accelerate your self destruction sure but to pin it all on "they were fiends" is so dumb, insensitive and backwards thinking and people like that should honestly consider touching bases with their humanity again
