Beyoncé did country music with an attitude of I’m taking this back for black people and “reclaiming” it as black history. Not saying that’s invalid for her to do, but it’s not going to endear you to the white audience in the genre. Some are just going to be outright racist towards you doing that and most are just not going to really be interested and just want to listen to their music. Also blend in misogyny to some degree where people are more apt to push back on a women trying to send a message.
BigX and Post just started making country music because they liked it. Nothing really inflammatory about how they did it, and Post is obviously white himself.
