I guess I could switch to contacts and wear these over them if there were no complications or side effects

But I gotta say, these sound more like novelty than anything else. Good utility but low warranty. I didn’t even bother to trade in my Seiko for a smart watch, and now I have one, I only use it exclusively on my runs, so maybe I’m the problem
