yeah it’s basically a masterclass in dynamics. you’ve got these raw, emotional songs right next to the hype ones, which is impressive considering they all share the same emotional depth of “i feel like a vampire rn”. the sequencing really tells a story though, not in a linear way, more like in a “playlist on shuffle but with red cover art” kind of way.
storytelling goes crazy too, like i definitely know exactly who he is, what he wants, and why he’s yelling. true classic, no notes.
Great album but somehow aging poorly compared to Self titled and Die Lit which is crazy considering WLR is his most unique sounding album (at the time)
This probably a wild ass take and I dont expect many to agree

False
It’s a good example of how guerrilla marketing and a well thought out attempt at influencing a certain crowd working the right way could change the direction of a whole genre but definitely not an example of a perfect album.

all that uniqueness s*** don’t mean that s*** quality, the other 2 tapes unique too
I love whenever an artist gives the exact opposite of what their fan base expects. And yeah the initial reaction wasn't the best, but he gained so many new fans from it
still, perfect album imo
I think it would be perfect without Kid Cudi's vocals added in, as well as no Akademiks intro.
