The only selling point to these imo is the fact you can play xbox games like lost odyssey blue dragon fight night champion etc not available anywhere else portably.

I got excited about the new ROG at first but would really like something that can play native console games on the go. Synced save states with Xbox games at home… if they did that before Sony they could make me a Microsoft Fanboy

I don't even know why Microsoft is even attempting to make hardware , are they that willing to risk a flop for the third time in a row? Also it's pretty clear they want to go full cloud, maybe they think there's still one hardware generation left before cloud becomes dominant?
