Drake a b****. There’s a time and place for everything. You don’t go bothering a nigga about work s*** when he grieving the loss of his mother
Kanye and Drake are the same person in a ton of ways
They have similarities but the difference is Kanye is more TMZ
Drake is more “I’ll let the music speak”
Drake would turn his mom’s death into a rollout 100%
Well he was gonna do it for his son.
You probs right
Drake a b****. There’s a time and place for everything. You don’t go bothering a nigga about work s*** when he grieving the loss of his mother
The game is the game
Again, Metro is well within his right to not have given Drake the song and to have stopped f***ing with him after that. Especially if Drake never apologized later. I'm not disputing that.
But using that and only that as the reason to do all he did and not even in 2022 but 2 years later? Yeah, no. Sorry.
What did he do in 2024 though? He produced an album where Future took shots on the opening, had a few skits clearly dissing Drake and called Kendrick for a feature, then two weeks later got a feature from Weeknd and Rocky who probably saw what was going on and jumped in cause they already had beefs with him
Maybe from the perspective of Metro orchestrating a character assassination 20v1 I understand but I think Metro's role in the situation has been very exaggerated
Kanye and Drake are the same person in a ton of ways
Drake is Kanye if Ye wasn’t a public crashout. If things were good, Kanye would be the only nigga that Drake would bend the knee for along with Wayne lol
Thug is one of Drake's only connections to ATL right now, he ain’t got the bald to challenge Thug publicly
I listened the whole call
At the end of the call Thug tells his manager to call Metro to clear it but in a way so that Thug isn't involved
Told his manager to tell Metro he didn't talk to him (Thug) yet
It was pretty public how hard metro took the death of his mother, him lashing out at any “little” thing is not that crazy, holding a grudge for years is not an outlandish thing for him to do
You have to approach people grieving like that with genuine empathy or anything will make them pop and that’s valid
Kendrick got blocked by the label in 2024 before the lawsuit happened because of conflict of interest with def jam not wanting to okay it. So this means the whole lucien sending them after Drake thing would make no sense
I thought they said that verse was recorded during the beef
Thug is one of Drake's only connections to ATL right now, he ain’t got the bald to challenge Thug publicly
also future
hence drake having zero smoke for future

Drake lets memes speak Akademiks speak What’s the Dirt speak lawyers speak
WTF has Drake said in his music as of late?
But immediately turns around and says yea but if it was me I’d say yea business can’t slow down
Nigga really da devil
All them lame ass niggas picked a side in the gunna vs thug beef, and thug not even on their side lmao
I thought they said that verse was recorded during the beef
nah it was but the album was supposed to come out that summer but since the label said Kendrick couldn’t be on it, Push left Def Jam completely

Think about it even this metro beef
It’s because Drake was trying to get music
Drake is 100% living the musician lifestyle
He drops more than all these guys
Drake is more invested in music
Kanye for the last decade has been about controversy
Yeah the label got involved like it does for every popular song and marketed it, that’s literally their job
Even in the lawsuit Drake wanted the song to be blocked or edited, which is ridiculous
A popular song is a popular song, a label is gonna push it every time
If FM had the same reaction as NLU, it would’ve been pushed just as hard
not in disagreement, I don't think they were in the wrong to promote a hit song, I just wonder how far they went for it and why.
I just personally think there was more to it, not to the extent of all the crazy conspiracies, but I just don't know the finer details. To me the main thing that sticks out is the fact, Drake was renegotiating a big money deal around the same time, then another guy finalises his new deal and 4 days later his diss track roll out towards Drake officially begins. Drake f***ed up how he handled the beef for sure, it's not like the whole system was against him and he could never win. But I think the extent of his loss was peddled a little. That's just my dumb opinion.
Thug is one of Drake's only connections to ATL right now, he ain’t got the bald to challenge Thug publicly
I’m sure they have no issues lol anyone aside from Glorilla has probably been contacted about this s*** by Thug
You wouldn't?
I completely agree that Drake even asking Metro for anything after his mom's death was in bad taste. My whole point is that from 2015 till at least 2021, we can assume Drake and Metro didn't have any issues. Up until that point, Metro would always speak positively about Drake whenever he was asked about him, post positive things about Drake on Twitter, etc.
Maybe it's just me (since we all react to things differently), but if someone I had respect for and f***ed with in any way asked me to do something for them at the worst time like after I lost a parent, I'd likely turn them down and that'd likely sour our relationship but before I burn that bridge completely, I'd call them later in the future and explain why they were wrong to do what they did, how what they did made me feel and give them that chance to apologize. If they apologize and admit to being wrong, that's something I can come to forgive. If they don't, that's the end of our relationship and I move on.
What I wouldn't do, is crash out on them years after the fact like Metro did. That one thing wouldn't make me go that far but again, that's just me.
Thug is one of Drake's only connections to ATL right now, he ain’t got the bald to challenge Thug publicly
if you listen to it, it's not a Drake diss just talking shi about your friend handling something the wrong way. Nothing there Drake needs to challenge Thug about imo
Metro's mom died in June 2022. 2 weeks later Drake was about to drop Honestly Nevermind. He wanted the Thug x Metro Boomin x Travis song Trance on HNVM cause the song is obviously fire and he wanted to put Thug on his album who had recently been jailed as support for him. He recorded for the song and tried to drop it, for that he tried to contact Metro but he said he didn't like what Drake did to the song and that he was grieving and not in music mode. Drake then asked Thug's manager to help contact Metro to clear the song, this call is between Thug's manager and Thug, where the manager is explaining the situation to Thug. Thug believes contacting Metro about music rn is in bad taste and believes the song is so fire that Metro might even be using the mom thing as an excuse to not give it away to Drake as he was saving it for his own album. In the end Thug tells his manager he doesn't wanna be involved in the situation and to not call Metro about it. The manager suggests he'll send some other Thug x Travis song to Drake instead.
Actually the version of Trance with Drake that leaked was from an Honestly Nevermind copy right before release that leakers had so this story kinda adds up.
The leaked version of the drake verse doesn’t fit and seems so sloppy but in general I try not to judge leaks since idk what got chopped up or butchered. Feel like I shouldn’t be hearing it in the first place lowkey
