And when Em and Dre performed it was even worse, they even changed the channel.
This is not a hate post. I'm happy for Kendrick, but let's not act like this is is some natural endorsement because he is the #1 act in the world.
There are only a few artists which fit your description of world wide. You will always leave out some people with your pick no matter who you choose. Its really only Ed Sheeran, Adele, Rihanna, Taylor, Weeknd where most people will probably recognize one song.

The TLDR of this take is this is no different than any show ever. I promise you my mom knew like 3 songs from Rihanna’s performance. This says nothing of Rihanna’s global success lol.

if your family recognized Maroon 5 but flipped the channel for Eminem and Dre, that says a lot more about them (and you) than it says about their renown and popularity in the world

And that's why almost all of those acts performed, because they have the hits and mainstream appeal. That's exactly what I'm saying.
