Been watching a lot shounen lately and kinda need a pallet cleanser. Tired of all the power leveling and fights

Your Lie In April
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
Gintama (I know its a shounen but I heard its funny af)
Monogatari (friend swears by this show, I have no idea where to start though)
Steins;Gate
Golden boy

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile but, how much attention do you guys pay to stuff like mal reviews/scores, subreddits and youtube reviews?
like, is any of that enough to make you drop/dislike a series or make you pick up a certain series just by how popular it is?
personaly, I have what some would call a ''trash taste'' but if I can emotionaly connect to a story or character then I'm sold.

I’m sure a lot of us when we started watching anime looked for the must watch ones. I did at least since I was tired of Naruto and OP. Now idgaf, I use MAL for catalog purposes and occasionally browse public opinions on the forums and Reddit when a really good ep drops. I only watch/read reviews of s*** I’ve completed to further my own insight that I might've not picked up.

For picking up s*** and finding interesting stuff yeah, for dropping it hell no
I decide for myself if i like it or not
Just reached the episode of Clannad After Story. If you've seen it, you know the one.
That was so sad that it was physically painful. Felt like my heart was getting squeezed. I didn't even cry, just kind of sat there in horror.
Great anime of course, I really loved when it became more focused and adult.
The few episodes later are the ones that really hit hard for me
So beautiful

I used to care but now I don’t
But I don’t watch a lot of “rare anime” anyway

I dunno bout rare anime but there's definitely some hidden gems we overlook
by hidden I mean less popular

When I want to find new stuff I just search for anime made by the same studios/directors/mangakas I enjoyed previous work of

Only use MAL to read synopsis tbh. The ratings in these anime sites always high asf, how every anime a 7 or 8?
