Akame Ga Kill was actually the first anime I've ever seen. I probably am burnt out a bit because of all that I’ve seen in one year.

Gun Gaile Online (7.5/10)
Erased (7.5/10)
Garden of Words (7/10)My original plan was to watch all the “best” anime’s and finish with One Piece because it has so many eps ideally I’d have enough eps for years.
But now I see that some of the underrated anime’s are great. If y’all could help based on my likes it would be appreciated

I also see that you haven't seen "Your Name" and "A Silent Voice" so get to it two great movies, if you read manga you should read the latter but the movie is good too
Other slice of life anime I like: Lovely Complex, Ouran High School Host Club, A Place Further than the Universe, Chihayafuru (sports anime but slice of life-ish)
I also recommend any Ghibli movie

shonen in general tends to get bogged down in quality imo because of how lazy their exposition often is as well as the over reliance of arcs just feeling like "same s***, different day" with barely any connection in between
AOT is def one of the rare ones I've seen where its arcs all show genuine growth in the narrative and its characters and it just keeps building up and while it is exposition heavy at times, it retains a pretty genuine tone the whole way.
I watched about 5 eps of HxH but tbh s*** is boring so far. Also definitely couldn't make it through FMA Brotherhood, the main character is mad annoying

AOT is def one of the rare ones I've seen where its arcs all show genuine growth in the narrative and its characters and it just keeps building up and while it is exposition heavy at times, it retains a pretty genuine tone the whole way.

Nah keep going it's great you'll grow into it
Personally I loved it since the hunter exams but most fans will tell you the later arcs are best
Once the power system is introduced it shifts the tone

Wait how come you hate it now?
I thought the show was narratively very iffy even from episode one and the only reason I liked it so much was because its production was a masterpiece.
My main problem with it is that the series seems to be about the MC redeeming himself as a person by using his second chance at life in an isekai world, however, the MC has frankly made no efforts at this redemption, and yet has been consistently rewarded.
First episode, the guy pervs on his isekai mom and gets excited about being able to suck on her t***: fine, whatever, he's a baby so it's kinda unavoidable, even though you could realistically skip over that little segment and nothing of value would be lost. But no, he uses the fact that he's a baby to grab his mom/the maids underwear and wear it on his head, because again, he's a degenerate. So we've established the MC is f***ing weird, but at the end of episode one he realizes that he has a pretty good life, and a caring family in the isekai world, and he proclaims that he's going to change for the better and make sure he doesn't waste this life. Well, that was a f***ing life.
Episode two the MC in the real world is painted as sympathetic because he was bullied in school, as if that's somehow a good enough reason for him to end up as a NEET who skipped his parents funeral to jerk off to hidden camera footage of underage girls in a locker room. Atrocious writing but whatever, we'll roll with it I guess. Remember how the MC said he was going to change for the better last episode? This episode he tries to sneak a peek at his magic tutors underwear, open her bedroom door to try and sneak a peek of her changing, and steals her underwear. Yup, he's made a real effort to change himself alright.
Yet, the guy is consistently rewarded throughout the story when he has made no effort. He's born with a talent in magic, his tutor helps him overcome his fear of other people, he has a loving family. It's a bunch of wish fulfillment bullshit that acts as self-insert escapism for IRL losers to use so they can cope with their lives instead of actually facing reality and making an effort to improve themselves.
So, even if you disregard my personal distaste with these types of stories, the narrative is still s***.

Watched episode 2 and wtf
this dude is 100x worst than Kazuya from rent a gf. There was some sus s*** going on in episode 1 but I excused it since the show looked good but ep 2 took degen to another level 
well i might just see what happens in the next few episodes but I can’t watch a show where I actually hate hate the MC 
I also see what you mean with the wish-fulfillment and that’s not really my cup of tea

Everyone has periods they watch/read more anime/manga and periods they dont
I had months (maybe even years) i barely watched anime or read manga. And in other times i checked out multiple series at the same time etc. So you could def just take a break and watch again when you actually really wanna watch
