I think that based on how the movie says it, her memories/double will be there regardless because the space ends up absorbing your psyche/memories into itself. I do like the idea of ASYNC purposefully turning people into that though. Thought it was also cool how she ends up being a dark parallel to her mother as well; frozen still like she was in the asylum, and stuck inside the room like her mother wanted her to be, unable to "break her loop" just like in her adult life

We think her mom experienced the backrooms and some point and went mad?

Nah nah not necessarily, HOWEVER I did think it too for a second so it's not outside the realm of possibility, especially with her few lines saying "they're not real out there" and s\*\*\* like that

  • One of my favorite aspects of the production design that I haven't seen people mention too much is how even the real life locations looked like "sets". The skies looked like matte paintings/backdrops that weren't super far removed from the buildings, certain store facades seeming extremely composed and sparse, even the couple's apartment/motel room seemed pastel and fake. Then funnily enough, they all appear in the ending montage, with only a few changes between the IRL and backrooms versions. Felt very deliberate. Imo I felt like that was extremely well done, almost felt Wes anderson-ish at times

  • What an amargue end!
Everyone in their seats felt that.

Another good note on this too, I'm glad that it's for horror. Always profitable, but I'm glad that (hopefully) new blood will be specifically injected into it, keeping things fresh and current, providing new perspectives. Not for nothing too tho, it's insane that it's f***ing MAY and the only movies worth going crazy over are indie/horror joints. Ain't nobody worried about f***ing grogu man, beautiful sight to see

honestly the store made me more uneasy than the actual backrooms at first

  • Ottoman Empire shirt purchased

  • It was good, love the production and set design and the usage of liminality and how wrapped the space was. Also feel like the ambiguity and mystery surrounding the backrooms not being resolved in the end was a good fit.

I do think it could been executed better towards the back half. The cams scenes were the best parts and how eerie and uneasiness all it was. Once they reveal the wrapped version of Clark I felt like all the uneasiness was zapped out of the movie. They should of just kept the thing ambiguous to the very end of it

    Solid movie tho

Gotta see it again tho. The person sitting next to me was taking me out the movie being so overdramatic. First 2 minutes in, the scene with the bird had her shaking and jump out of her seat kept doing that throughout even at the most mild of parts that werent even supposed to be jump scares and was even running in place. S*** was too much

  • This wasnt scary for me but s*** leaves you thinking man. And that for me is an effective movie. Props to Kane for developing the concept in a way I didnt expect. S***

I really liked it! They def brought those YouTube videos to life in this movie!

I think it’s a 7-8/10. It hit most of the right notes and made me uncomfortable many times. But I wanted more lore and the monster reveal was disappointing and was expecting the creature from the first Backrooms video

Overall, this deserves its success and hope more people enjoy this!

i think the biggest issue i have with this one is that it kind of just ended

  • I think if they take the right lessons from reviews and public we can get a seriously classic sequel from this

  • Watching some of the OG clips now, OG monster is not scary at all beyond being big and chasing you. Think it was the right move to come up with something new

  • Fire movie. By the end I was very enthralled with the concept had me deep diving the rest of the series
