No but it’s still an abuse of power for artist which seems to be what you care about . Is it not ? The” bts “ law just delays mandatory service for 2 years

They still have to enlist either way . No matter what . Which is again a cultural difference

Same way everyone has to sign up for selective service

Its more so trump doing a favor for the artists lawyer than it is for the artist.

A pardon applies to one artist . A law applies to any artist who earns that criteria which isn’t just bts …..

you're so close to getting it. Thats exactly my point. Its almost like the Korean gov protects kpop as an industry in ways America doesnt do with hip hop

Asap Rocky , lil Wayne , young boy , Desiree Perez all favors and good . Korean government caring about a group that boost their economy by “ an estimated $5 billion annually, or about 0.5% of the country's GDP”

    Doesn’t matter

I never said it was a deep conspiracy you f***ing idiot. I said from the beginning the korean government said it themselves. How is it a conspiracy if the gov said it?

American government didn’t protect Diddy all these years when they knew he had a hand in killing 2Pac and knew he had sexual crimes or do you genuinely think they had no idea ? They protect the artist they can use .

Because all governments have artist that they benefit enough from that they give better treatment . They were talking about writing ai laws because of Taylor swift . Celebrities and rich artist have power in every country and have the potential to boost the image of the country and generate more money for the country . Again why artist lean apolitical to make the money and cause no issues with the government . To get that Super Bowl stage .to get that World Cup stage . To build those connections . Our immigration system, visas and how we treat tourist vs Korea where without tourism they lose a lot of money is a CULTURAL difference

Jay Z is lobbying the government for a casino in Times Square and made excuses for the gentrification of Barclays center . Federal government helped build that too .

Corny occupy all streets . Diddy vote or die . Artist are tools for the government often

I get the overall point although BTS is genuine with its black connects and inspiration - and they were rejected by the kpop world for most of their life that came from a literal indie label that became a major due to their eventual success, they also started out as rappers as kids in the SK underground before their KPop shift and they are legit students as much as they can be with a literal language and geography border

You guys' also always ignore how little of USA norms translates or is even a thing to other countries of different languages, especially as one such as SK that was literally locked off from most of the world in media and visitation for the longest until like the 2000s - they were super isolated and still are to an extent in terms of slow exposure in mainland with only so far barely 20 years of openess

I personally don't care for KPop, but BTS is literally the last persons that deserves these criticisms, and it's dumb asl to get upset over broken English used by people that pretty much live in a different reality than you that are still trying the best to their ability to give homage, give opportunities and respect to their influences

Also most of the racism from Kpop fans towards black people don't even come from most actual SK Koreans, it comes from the Korean version of weebs in USA and EU

Thank you my lightskin brother, this is my point fr

You do but if a nigga is not African I dont want him calling me nigga. Nigga was used against Africans in the West.

Also black is different than African. Samoans and Polynesians are often black but not African

Your original post agreed with him so you edited it to fit your narrative.
Do you care about this that much or do you care more about being proven wrong by a literal WHO on a internet forum?

    What post did I edit?

I only edited a typo, I dont want a non African calling me a nigga.

Also the mods can see what i said before the edit if you wanna ask them tbh. I never changed anything to fir my narrative, in this thread i literally deleted a post and told a man i was wrong. I dont care that much to do that.

Edit: matter of fact the only thing i edited in my whole back and forth with him is to you when I said because I said “i dont want him calling me black” when i meant a nigga.

  • You defending someone who isnt African using slurs against Africans particularly of the Western part of the diaspora. Mind you this is supposed to be a hip

I don’t wanna hear the black balling excuse because if people want to hear it industry black balling won’t matter.

I’ve watched my favorite rapper get black balled and shut out from collabs for years but it didn’t matter because his music was undeniable

    YoungBoy really your favorite rapper?
