How is this controversial now? This is just what K Pop is and has always been and it’s disgusting

  • Sounds awful

  • backJT

Not really its beautiful cross cultural collabs if you care to do research. I mean this album’s title refrences a historical Korea song thst yearns for unification/historical context and was first recorded on an HBCU campus. Yall should talk to more black kpop stans and fans

    I wasn't aware of that

I think the fandom in Kpop definitely has its toxic tendencies, but anyone writing off the entire genre is being extremely close-minded

If it’s written by jpeg that’s on him . Why is aave the only one we talk about being stolen from ? Especially when a lot of aave originates from lgbt black people . Black culture remixes from other cultures often too and makes it popping . S*** black culture is the central culture of America without black culture America doesn’t have culture. So it never shocks me when others steal or emulate it

Saying lit and fiya isn’t really our culture though . Some of what’s in op applies some of it is a reach or engagement farming on twitter

Slime is specifically young thug and ysl

I tried bringing up the fact that hip-hop borrows from Asian culture as well and the response was "lmao"

Like the accusation of stealing culture are fine but it doesn’t work if you are silent when black culture steals remixes or makes a mockery of Asian culture .

She is likely very self aware and knows when/where to disassociate with the Fandom. Aka, its just entertainment, not a religion.

  • I have never willingly listened to K-Pop btw.

  • Kpop is one of the most soulless corporate products and anyone convincing you to listen is carrying water for international finance capital

There are openly racist Asian lines in many rap songs and you point it out people will say “ they are anti black so this makes us even “ . There are albums and songs entirely dedicated to stewing Asian culture or using it for an era making your money and moving on . This idea by people that culture is isolated and won’t mix is baffling . Korean chicken wouldn’t exist without mixing in culture . Black Koreans existence boomed with Korean War . There are Koreans who have lived in poor or impoverished black areas more than use on this site

So even a black person using aave who is never around it in real life and only knows it from the internet is still stealing culture . A lightskin person can be stealing culture if it’s not the way they live . It’s a character they become based on the internet . In this example bts is in the wrong bit again jpeg writing for the money . Same as Ian manager bu. I don’t ever wake up like “ what if someone outside of Chicago uses the word goofy “

This site appropriates crash out to mean something entirely different from what it means on the streets of Chicago . Social media made it where everyone steals culture and remixes

I know I am saying the idea that all fans of anything treat it like a religion is the cringe part

Because racist say the same thing about rap in that regard

“ they can’t care about the n word they listen to rap it’s all money d**** b****es “

I am saying sweeping generalizations gets us nowhere
