im saying man wayne hasn't been wayne for the longest

he has shown flashes of what he once was on features and certain songs on albums but a whole body of work wayne hasn't been that guy for years

Wayne is doing exactly what he’s always done which is the problem here

Eh he doesn’t have anywhere near the talent Wayne has. But nerds who are very invested in the idea of “perfect discographies” that grew up on Fantano think that because pusha gets better beats he’s a better rapper than Wayne, or even a better artist, which isn’t true.

Using Kendrick as a scapegoat doesn’t mitigate the fact that the reason it’s different now is because although he’s always been hit and miss post prime, never diluted the Carter series in the way he did until C6

Also keep in mind, he hadn’t dropped a solo album since 2020, with the album def not being as bad as the one we got this year

Sometimes all it takes is one bad album for people to switch on you like that. Looking at Eminem and Chance.

I am pretty sure this site didn’t suddenly decide to start hating wayne over his 19th bad album in a row or over the second/arguably third disappointment in the carter series. But alright man

Wayne is doing exactly what he’s always done which is the problem here

this is where that whole " Wayne only listens to Wayne. Wayne doesn't know who anyone is(I.E. Thinking 21 Savage was a group)" thing came back to bite him

Heart pt 6 is better rapping than push has ever did. If Jadakiss had Kanye /pharrell beats pusha T and Malice would be working at McDonald’s inside a church.

No not at all. It’s not a coincidence that the biggest Kendrick d*** suckers (you) are the loudest voices in this anti Wayne crusade. I mean, you’re even getting all defensive about it

Wow it sure is convenient for your story how wayne has been dropping ass for years and has been dumped on for it the whole time but i’ve only seen people calling him “overly coddled” since he got into it with kendrick over the super bowl

Wayne ain’t drop anything worse than C6 and the fix before C6 in his career, no conspiracy can excuse that type garbage from him

Hating the greatest rapper of all time because he made bad albums is crazy he still got more classic songs than anybody we can excuse him for having some bad projects

It doesn't even have to be a "perfect" discography thing. Wayne hasn't made anything I like in over 10 years. Yah I revisit his prime but Pusha T has made more music that I like over his career than Wayne. I won't argue Wayne is more talented, Push probably wouldn't even argue that.

Wayne is higher on my all time list too just from the impact, the influence, the peak, but I think Push has gotten the best out of P and Ye as producers and absolutely capitalized on it and that's why he's regarded as highly as he is.

Lord Willin and HHNF don't sound like any else, they're timeless and sound great today still. Daytona is incredible, and him and his brother are basically 50 making high quality music that stays true to themselves but also sounds fresh. Does P play a big role in that? Absolutely. But that's like saying an NFL QB should be thought of as lesser than cause he played with elite talent around him

It could also be because he’s been overly coddled for years now and it isn’t justified when he arguably dropped the biggest disappointment of the year

beyond ass album aside, he's one of (if not arguably) the most important rappers of all time. all we can hope is that this (and other recent events) light a fire under his ass

Pharrell wanted to break a VA act. Pusha was carried to that opportunity by his older brother Malice, who was the superior rapper

Kanye needed a ghost writer who would also get him coke. Ghost writers don’t need to be charismatic or creative so it was perfect for push. Ye also probably liked that he could use Pusha as a Hov stand in when he couldn’t get Hov

Then Pharrell fell off and wanted to get some nostalgia bait going so got back with Clipse

See this is just insane and it’s an invalid take. You’re just talking albums then? Because there’s no doubt Wayne has more great songs than pusha does.
