Dunkey’s review isn’t a parody - it’s an opinion based on the terrible game he is playing. So far, around 32,000 people like said review in comparison to the 3100 that disliked.
And he’s not ‘glitching the game’ on ‘cornball s***’ — he is making genuinely sound points.
- How do you make a walk simulator actually entertaining? (Kojima didn’t)
- Constantly falling over, janky controls and shallow mechanics (irrespective of player quality, this happens frequently)
- The mediocre excuses of boss fights
- Weak third person actual shooting gameplay
- Kojima’s embarrassing outburst which was basically ‘you need to have big brain IQ to play my first ever strand type game’
- More janky mechanics; the paradox of needing to carry everything, but to actually travel you need to carry light, which punishes you
- Absurd cutscenes for menial matters such as showers
- Important point: exposition dumps where gameplay and story are disconnected.
- Most important point of all: nobody has a f***ing clue what this game is, and what it is trying to be, other than 50 hours of tedious rambling. Why bother playing it?
There are plenty of points he covers in his video - laced with comedy of course - that are more than solid and should be refuted by people who actually want to continue to defend this sham of a ‘video game’.
Or we can just stay in denial, not watch the video, and pretend we’re enjoying a game that doesn’t want to be enjoyed

ideath stranding is as much of a walking simulator as red dead redemption is
constantly falling over and this “paradox” are intentional gameplay mechanics that work
boss fights arent the best so far but theyre not the worst either

I genuinely see more people screeching about how the game sucks and about Kojima fanboys being in denial than I do any actual Kojima fanboys worshiping the ground he walks on.
I love seeing how the people who love this game dgaf what other people think and are super positive toward each other. 90% of this thread has been people enjoying and loving the experience instead of turning into a toxic mess. Hate to see Dunkey feed the trolls, but proud to be on here with a lot of you guys.

Nov 20, 2019Instead of hating on a game that you read about or saw someone play, just play it. It's actually pretty good and you won't realize the worth of a game without personal experience.
Plus, for everyone bringing up what kojima said, you're taking it out of context and don't need to bring it up in this thread as there's already a thread for that.
Majority of this thread as said above is pretty positive, so don't spam the pages with negativity perceived from someone else's opinion.

He exaggerates but that doesnt make his complaints any less valid. For instance he s***s on vehicle mechanics then shows himself driving a bike up a rocky hill like a dumbass cause it's funnier than a serious explanation of why he doesn't like it.

I’m not familiar with his videos but the way you’re describing it reminds me of youtubers like the Nostalgias Critic who focus less on a***ysis and deep dives to focus on hacky comedy.

Dunkey's a master at comedy, but showing something not wrong with the game as he plays the game incorrectly and then unironically saying "it's bad" is not comedy lol. It's just lazy.
Dude can like and dislike whatever he wants to like and dislike, but I have the right to call out the flaws in someone's logic.

He's not even wrong about a lot of what he said, the cutscenes are definitely excessive at times and you do be falling over randomly
