He's not even wrong about a lot of what he said, the cutscenes are definitely excessive at times and you do be falling over randomly

I’m not familiar with his videos but the way you’re describing it reminds me of youtubers like the Nostalgias Critic who focus less on a***ysis and deep dives to focus on hacky comedy.

I see what you’re getting at though.

Dunkey’s review isn’t a parody - it’s an opinion based on the terrible game he is playing. So far, around 32,000 people like said review in comparison to the 3100 that disliked.

And he’s not ‘glitching the game’ on ‘cornball s***’ — he is making genuinely sound points.

• How do you make a walk simulator actually entertaining? (Kojima didn’t)
• Constantly falling over, janky controls and shallow mechanics (irrespective of player quality, this happens frequently)
• The mediocre excuses of boss fights
• Weak third person actual shooting gameplay
• Kojima’s embarrassing outburst which was basically ‘you need to have big brain IQ to play my first ever strand type game’
• More janky mechanics; the paradox of needing to carry everything, but to actually travel you need to carry light, which punishes you
• Absurd cutscenes for menial matters such as showers
• Important point: exposition dumps where gameplay and story are disconnected.
• Most important point of all: nobody has a f***ing clue what this game is, and what it is trying to be, other than 50 hours of tedious rambling. Why bother playing it?

There are plenty of points he covers in his video - laced with comedy of course - that are more than solid and should be refuted by people who actually want to continue to defend this sham of a ‘video game’.

Or we can just stay in denial, not watch the video, and pretend we’re enjoying a game that doesn’t want to be enjoyed

he's like not even trying to play the game or understand its mechanics. Like in one clip, he obviously overloaded his power skeleton with cargo then tried to walk up an incline. In another, he didn't check the river depths or else he wouldve known he couldnt cross it w/o losing his cargo. So disingenuous. You can not like the game but dont actively try to not play it the way its intended then s*** on it
