  • Dec 16, 2025

    Had to cop that one

Used to try to get a shirt at every show but I’ll never wear the s*** so I’m a bit more selective on what merch I’ll buy

    Not at all

I'm trying my best to avoid supporting my favorite mainstream millionaire artists as much as possible. Only way I support them is buying concert tickets if they in town

Easier said than done the margins are crazy tight

It’s essentially the same as paying for a high quality producer or artist. I set the prices for the music and everybody gets paid

The artist at the end of the day can charge whatever for some high quality merch collaborating with fashion labels.

Related to a thought I’ve had before, how musicians and song lyrics have become so narcissistic and uncaring for giving the people a bigger idea to believe in that buying musician merch has become uncool by default and thus rare from the public. How funny is that

This is super interesting do you feel like this is true though? Like I work in a high school and my kids wear artist merch a lot. Tons of kids in chromakopia merch for example

  • Dec 16, 2025

not anymore all my favs dead. i am almost genuinely believing i am cursed and don't want to be fan of any other artist.

  • if i like the shirt/music/artist yea

last 3 tees i bought were s***pistols, circle jerks, and slipknot

  • Dec 16, 2025

Depends if I have the money btw.

On the CDs fact, I always felt like they were the best format, because the various ways you can use CD for than a Vinyl.

Plus that “warm” sound that Audiophiles lust over can be easily achieve with great mixing on A***og Boards

Tyler is the opposite of my first sentence, no surprise he got the merch booming with the kids. Tyler represents bigger ideas and puts that to the forefront of his art, specifically visually

    There’s symbology with Tyler

Speaking of Mick Jenkins he sold a USB for Murder of Crows that also contains behind the scenes content, music videos (I believe) lyric breakdowns, and 3 unreleased songs from his next album. Not sure how expensive USBs are to produce but could be a good idea to sell physical media in a unique way

Could combine that concept with the QR code keychain idea too. I have 4 or 5 USBs from Jpegmafia that usually contain extra songs or extended versions of songs

    not much anymore

    most s*** sucks nowadays

should be emphasized more because branding is everything when it come to contemporary artist growth

Got my $$$4U hoodie on right now.

It still has some hints of Better World Fragrance from home so it feels like Drake is giving me a nice bear hug wherever I go. ❤️
