Speaking of Mick Jenkins he sold a USB for Murder of Crows that also contains behind the scenes content, music videos (I believe) lyric breakdowns, and 3 unreleased songs from his next album. Not sure how expensive USBs are to produce but could be a good idea to sell physical media in a unique way
Could combine that concept with the QR code keychain idea too. I have 4 or 5 USBs from Jpegmafia that usually contain extra songs or extended versions of songs
Thats a great idea
For sale: band tees, never worn. 😔
when you get it, you’ll realize there’s nothing sadder 😔
I remember my homie bought a Gothboiclique tote bag in 9th grade and i thought he was the man lol
Too much tbh, if yall want some never-worn band tees lmk
But I only buy merch at the shows, that’s key to the appeal for me as the merch object commemorates the event. Backwoodz is the lone exception where I’ll buy a record or apparel in advance
You could make a killing on depop
Not yet but I’ve been meaning to set one up. Is there a platform you’d recommend?
Depends on what your priorities are. Grailed you could probably sell for the best price but fees keep going up and might sit for a while. Depop will probably move quicker but prices are lower. Haven’t sold on eBay before so I can’t speak on that one
I think the overall best option for me recently has been to sell through a music/clothing related discord or other communities and cut out the middleman but that has its own challenges i.e. you have to make the labels yourself and so on
i cop tons of merch but first of all all the webstores are p much label ran and second a lot of that stuff is kinda weak
i do appreciate when they throw a cool tank top in there with t shirts and them
If it’s free, rather buy some Uniqlo than a gildan shirt that has that cheap print material on it
If its a band I like & they have good designs. I feel like 90% of my tees are band shirts, & i like a good crew neck or hoodie (i got hella hoodies & theyre a staple of fall winter fits)

How much does it matter how you feel about the music? like would you buy a fire design shirt from an opening band you thought was cool but not the reason you went, or buy an ok shirt from the headlining artist you went to see who had a killer set
If I like the artist… but the merch has to actually be good too
Some of my favorite artists have trash merch smh
ill gladly pay for overpriced shirts at concert if they look good
quality kinda sucks sometimes so sometimes i rarely end up wearing them
I always buy artist merch. Especially the weird stuff. Kenny Mason sold a holder for those dog poop bags, Saba sold pencils, got an ashtray from ScHoolboy Q
still wondering the calculus behind mason team goin "dog poop bag holders would be really lucrative for us based on ur fanbase"

only smaller/less well known artists
and usually only if the graphic is vague/doesn't say their name or show their face

He does a lot of wordplay with dogs so it was a play on that. Don't think it sold that well cause they were still on the site like a year after the tour, but I mean it was only like $10 and I have a dog lol
Usually at a concert. I prefer a hat. Wish more people did tanks. But yeah I like getting a little memento at a show
But like album merch nah…I did with Kanye tho I will admit
But I did get a daft punk hat for some discovery anniversary

niche stuff like that is more intresting than lazy graphic tees n overpriced trinkets anyway. good purchase
