Yeah I did that too. Youre supposed to move on and fight him later but I just had to be that guy who bashed his head against the wall until I got him
He’s there for a reason, real ones killed him first
I skipped him :shrek:
Going for a samurai black flame pyromancer build with cross naginata for this 4th playthrough... Doing all bosses and then ill stop playing the game for a long time (maybe)
Just downloaded this and finally beat Tree Sentinel after ~4 hours
I know thats not s*** compared to the rest of the bosses but it felt so good finally putting his ass on a tshirt
Update:
Beat Godrick last night. I am absolutely in love with this game.
I spent the whole week exploring tf out of Limgrave, Caelid, & a lil bit of Liurnia so I had cool gear/weapons that made Margit & Godrick’s boss fights so fun.
I can’t believe it took me this long to pick it up
This game doesn’t have a lot of replay value for me, despite putting in like 300 hours. Most of it was PvP. I’d speed farm runes for alt characters/builds, but never really finished an entire 2nd, 3rd, or 4th playthrough. Despite having characters at varying levels.
I still need to finish the DLC which is my greatest shame. I just randomly stopped progressing after meeting that Finger Sorcerer dude.
Spent 4 hours last night getting slapped around by Malenia then woke up this morning & decided just to try 3 attempts before getting ready for work & I beat her on the second attempt 🥹
I wanna let the recency bias fade a lil but im pretty sure this game will be in my top 5 oat when I complete it.

Im stubborn af and been using my great erdtree club because i'm doing an unga bunga run. my dodge frames aren't even bad, i've upgraded my stamina a lot. maybe i just gotta farm some more. i also have an uchigatana as my backup, but regardless.
i hate waterfowl so much. can't think of a more annoying move in any FROM game imo.

I started using summons after comfortably figuring out phase 1 just to speed it along to phase 2
The time I won my summons got whopped in phase 1 so I was solo for phase 2
Just finished with the Age of Stars ending!
10/10 game absolutely blew me away
I'm so happy I have the DLC to start next cause I think I'd be depressed over it being finished

The DLC is just perfect imo. A more compressed version of Elden Ring with some fantastic level designs and bosses.

DLC is amazing, IMO. A lot of people hated it cause it wasn't what they wanted it to be storywise or lorewise, but I thought it was spectacular.
Following Miquella's trail, almost in a detective sort of way - pieceing the story together as you go along, the cast of characters, exploring the Land of Shadow - absolutely peak gaming, IMO. Enjoy it, brother.
Doing one more run through before my daughter arrives on this planet.
Congrats on the new baby

In a lot of ways it feels way more refined and also way more creative than the base game as much as i love the base game

Its better than the base game and their best souls only under DS1. They managed to fix one thing that always bugged me about the main game - exploring isnt inherently cool, its all dependant on the points of interest. You can go anywhere with torrent without being stopped or challenged so it kinda just becomes a mindless hunt for the next task to complete.
SOTE then decided to add to the level design complexity by making the entire map a legacy dungeon, with tons of secret passages that lead to new areas, all cleverly hidden in the 2d map but still giving enough clues to entice curiosity and investigation. I spent a lot more time off torrent precisely because of this, and i started thinking of the open world map the same way id do a metroid prime map. I spent hours trying to figure out the way to the road that would eventually lead to the frenzy area.
The rest is as well made as the base game, with even more added build variety which is one of elden ring's greatest strengths
