I beat the DLC on NG+ and honestly I felt it was surprisingly easy compared to the base game. When I started the DLC I was perhaps level 160-165, and at the end of it I reached like 210-220.
The majority of boss fights never felt unfair. Second phase of the final boss would be the closest thing to being on the verge of unfair, but other than that, it was fair game.
Of course, I died several times to most of the main bosses until I learned their attacks and timing and dodging and all that usual stuff, but that's part of the process of figuring out a boss. I always knew that I would and could beat them once I knew what they were about. I never felt that I was in over my head or that the DLC was "too hard" as some complained when it released.
Same. I genuinely think people that have a hard time in these kind of games dont read and/or dont experiment.
Ive noticed in the DLC theyve even made notes on the floor for basic stuff such as enemy weak spots which way MORE telling to the player than the base game and even any other FS game lmao
I dont get it. And almost 90 percent of the time the person thats complaining is literally missing a mechanic. Like leveling up health matters, your weapon type and element against certain enemies/bosses matter, literally use spirits that the game is built around (and why bosses are the most aggressive in this game than any other FS n the multi boss fights) if youre having a hard time - its a main mechanic in ER unlike the npc summoning in other FS titles which are optional, use the scardutree blessings if its too hard and again what the dlc is literally built around and its major mechanic in gameplay and lore, etc.
S***s stupid. You can ignore whatever & play the game how you want but if how youre playing is frusturating you badly while youre ignoring key mechanics and information then thats a you issue, not the game.
Most of the time the player frustration is self inflicted.
I think I just found Malenia… gonna 1 try her let’s see

i mean thats the thing lol most people are straight garbage at the game
no idea about mechanics, or how damage works and their builds and weapons aren't optimized at all.
Or they just haven't done any actual exploring to collect s*** that could help them.

Nah im not even talking about people that arent genuinely good st the game
Most people i see complain about the game are those that put stupid restrictions on themselves or dont read any items/notes that give a lot of info about weapon attacks, weak spots, resistances, key item purpose etc.
It was especially bad during the base game when a lot of people were refusing to use spirits and not upgrading vitality - or they refuse to even look at crafting when some of those items could and do help a lot in very specific situations
Self inflicted frustration
Im better than most at these lind of games but part of it is that i go through and use everything - since Dark Souls 1
