I also found Pans Labyrinth too difficult when it came out tbh. Turned it off when dude caved in other dudes head. Wasn't in a violence watching mood apparently.

yeah any scenes with moms really get to me these days.

at least we know our parents will pass some day, doesn't make it any easier though. but losing a child, really makes me wonder if I even want to have kids.

And yeah I'm super torn on kids. Not sure if I wanna sacrifice any free time I might have for the rest of my life to raise some kids that may not may not suck or die young or have to face mass famine, drought and war

I love Dali. Have a lithograph print of his from 1975. Snagged it for like 150 bucks somehow back in the day. I know he was a fascist sympathizer but surprisingly a lot of great artists were fascist sympathizers. Remember that it's easier to look at the horror of these things in retrospect. Though I'm kind of speaking out of my ass because I don't actually know how deep his relationship with fascism was/whether he was actively supporting the actions of Francisco Franco. If he supported Hitler/Mussolini after WW2 then yeah f*** him. Maybe you'll have to educate me on that.

Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, all were basically proto-fascist. I despise fascism as much as you but I can kind of understand why someone would disagree with democracy in the same way we disagree with fascism.

Never looked too much into it but always found the connection between avant garde and fascism/antisemetism pretty strange. Ezra Pound, T.S Eliot, Wyndham Lewis, Dali, etc...

I don't have time to get into it right now, but his relationship was deep enough that Picasso told an interviewer never to ask me about Dali again cause that person no longer exists to me. I'll just say he made Kanye look like an amateur wannabe Hitler fanboy.
