Yeah I have a massive work playlist of strictly bangers from all eras and genres that would play for two weeks straight without hearing the same song twice but when I give someone a highly curated playlist it's meant to be listened to in the order I chose.

I have a few playlists that are meant chronologically. I made a classical playlist for my best friends newborn baby to be played in order. And I made a playlist for my mom and told her to play it in order. But playlists I make for myself are for the most part a collection of songs that fit a genre/subgenre/region or just mood.

Most of my playlists were/are curated over 3-10 years, depending on when I created them, adding songs every so often. So making them to be played in order just doesn't make much sense. I never just put a playlist together in a day or two, then I could more see where you're coming from but not really.

When it comes to specifically ordered/curated playlists I can see wanting it to be listened to chronologically cause they're wanting to introduce you to the band in a certain way

If I sent someone a playlist with just a bunch of albums thrown in then sure, do whatever you want
