Lupe also (imo) just isn't a very good pop artist. Whether he purposefully sabotaged the quality of his lesser projects to stick it to Atlantic, he excels when he goes full conceptual rap mode.

F&L and The Cool are both very accessible while still being true to Lupe and T&Y has some poppier moments on occasion. Think that's the farthest he's willing to go though.
