Would spin the pitched down version from time to time while taking in all the new FO that dropped. Obviously the final version is supreme but funny that on the first listen 2 tracks in only 1 in pitched Frank verse had been heard so far lol
Just here to mope/complain
I’m working on a poster that lists out every artist I’ve seen in concert and I’m going to get it printed and it honestly makes me really sad to not include Frank. May just wait on the project till he tours but like, it’s been 11 years since I’ve been a fan. Any time it feels like we’re close, something happens and I always wind up with a ticket to the event he cancels

Someone made this website as a takedown / exposal of gamma / Larry Jackson and they allege they paid Frank a bunch of money for a project he never delivered
"Paid Frank Ocean millions for a project he can't get him to deliver. Investors and board members confused."
“Gamma reportedly paid Frank Ocean millions upfront for an album that has never materialized. Board members and investors are reportedly confused and frustrated. Classic SCAMMA behavior: spend big, get nothing.”

Def not saying its true. but I also found this post in a reddit thread from 2023
reddit.com/r/FrankOcean/comments/1394bl1/frank_ocean_still_seeking_new_distribution_deal
"From the Billboard article: "Larry Jackson says he’s been in close touch with Frank Ocean throughout the launch of gamma, seeking the artist’s feedback on details like the name of the company, but wouldn’t comment on any projects they might have in the works together."
So they might have something else going on, he just won't say anything"

By the way, do we know how he managed to release Blonde as an independent record despite the fact that he used his label money to make it? (A really s***ty move, in my opinion.)

Not specifically, but there was Lots of grey areas during the popularization of streaming and exclusives which made it possible.
Also, I remember reading testimonials from ppl like james blake, Alex g and chassol, frank would have collaborater work on a very specific part/stem without context of the rest of the song so they wouldn't know what frank is actually working on. The whole process seemed like everyone just had to trust frank and it paid off.

The most conventional song on the whole album imo. While at the same time being one of the most esoteric tracks, lyrically. Also insane move to put beyonce as a background vocal. I remember hearing that and realizing that frank really is him lmfao

Glad they're back <3 <3 <3
For this retrospective been living with each track for the entire week playing it random points throughout the day over said week. No doubt Blonde creeps into my top played this year LOL

It's a perfect Spring / Summer anthem, one of the album's more decorative tracks
which is almost the exact opposite of the prior track, especially the guitar mangling at the end which I admittedly "hated" for so long but "get" now
