It’s got some high highs. cocoa butter kisses and the outro are great. But there’s a lot of trash ass hooks and annoying voices on here.
Needs Juice
Still love it tho
It's probably still good
I just can't listen to him the same anymore
& the whole semi-fake positive public persona thing kinda killed my interest in him too
Juice one of the tracks I hate
Damn that’s crazy but I guess if you don’t like the voices and ad libs it makes sense
Might be my fav on it tbh
actually listened to it for the first time in years a couple weeks ago and it made my day better. very impactful on me when i was in school and it holds up
i don’t listen to it whatsoever but last time i did i liked it still. prefer coloring book ibr
Never liked it or got into the hype tbh, despite trying to give it many listens
Maybe I’ll give it another listen one of these days
Definitely has its place in rap history but I’ll take Colouring Book over it mostly nostalgia and I think Star Line is an all around better project
still amazing. catchy, fun, touching... still a very unique rap album and tbh unfortunately a clear early peak of Chance's career
Definitely has its place in rap history but I’ll take Colouring Book over it mostly nostalgia and I think Star Line is an all around better project
Star Line was really good
Idk if he just waited too long or if he was always cooked in the main stream after his flop
2010s essential
Am I deliberately turning it on ? Nah but I’m probably not skipping if it comes up on shuffle
Still good
I wanted to like coloring book but it had some of the worst mixing I had heard. It sounded like a random gucci mane mixtape and it won a Grammy?
10 Day is slept on, also rly good. and vic mensa innanetape is also part of this larger sound universe to me. it's a very melancholic nostalgic sound, already sounded nostalgic back when it came out
Worst era
Call it a 2010s classique
Part of the reason why 2013 was such a damn good year for music. From the day this released (4/30/13) to the end of June, we were blessed with Acid Rap, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, Born Sinner, and Yeezus.
Classic
Would be more regarded if he lived up to the hype
let's keep all the way 3 hunna.
Chance made the mistake of appealing to a MASSIVE fanbase of smart but underachieving d*** addicts (his own words that's what he definitely would summarize himself as, man told Deante Kyle he was in the slow class lolololol) that prolly wear fedoras and scoff at a text of any religion aka don't know what nuance mean.
So Coloring Book was gonna always have this wave of "hate" and an underlying affect of niggas hoping this man failed (Big Day being a pile of s*** doesn't help) which is ironic because Coloring Book as an overall project is so much more better and consistent than Acid Rap was.
We just blatantly ignore the lows on it lol.
