i mean evolution comes from necessity not whim

There has to be some "whim" or else nothing would change. The idea is random mutations lead to naturally selected advantages, the whim is the random mutation. But i dont actually believe in that, there is probably a lot of very intelligent mechanisms happening on a molecular level that allow for organisms to adapt and evolve in a non-random manner

    u ok jay

that's an awesome dream, it's a big interest of mine too. i really wonder what industrialization would do to the evolution of humans if, hypothetically, we lived millions of more years and never went extinct

There are some studies i saw recently about how rapid changes in environment can be really bad for evolution and life in general, can lead to extinction events. I think people should be mindful of that while chasing "progress"

I also think i mean evolution doesnt always move in a positive direction, depends on environment, its possoble humans could become dumber if we become too lazy etc. But it is very fascinating stuff

Why do you think having wings is an advantage?

Animals with wings usually sacrifice having arms and hands

I don't know if we'd be this advanced without hands

Also We would have to eat with our mouths i.e. develop beaks to be able to pick food up effectivefully

I mean it makes it much easier to travel, find prey, and escape danger. But the aerodynamics part is very true, altho in the past we had flying animals like aerodactyls

Nigga wings ain’t even that advantageous.

First, birds aren’t apex predators. Flying requires lighter and more brittle bones, which is the opposite of what you want on a planet with gravity. Most of these birds would die if they fell without flying. Like a baby bird who falls out the nest. Bugs that fly can be smashed by a toddler.

Second, flying requires energy, and you can only fly so long before something gets you while resting. Or you fall out the sky and die.

Third, all the food on earth is on/in/comes from the ground. Flying away from food isn’t beneficial to most things on earth.

The REAL survival advantage is being able to throw things with force and accuracy. Most predators have to physically touch and expend energy to eat their prey. But if you can throw, you can save energy and kill at a distance.

Bird flying above you? Throw a spear at it. Now you eating bird.
Bear is charging you? Throw a spear at it. Now you eating bear.
Fish in the water? Throw a spear at it. Now you eating fish.

Which species on earth is the best at throwing things? Humans.

Which species survives in all environments on earth? Humans.

Which species is the apex predator on earth? Humans.

Humans wouldn’t be able survive long enough if we couldn’t kill at a distance. If humans came from Africa then that means we competed with, lions, water buffalo, hippos, rhinos, chimps, etc. for food. All of those things can kill a pack of people, but a pack of people with throwing spears can kill all of those things.

Survival is way easier when you can kill your competitors at a distance. People talk about the human brain and cognition but that didn’t start getting to modern levels until AFTER we were throwing s*** at the competition.

Miss me with that “evolution isn’t real because only birds fly” s***.

Evolution is real because each living thing on this planet developed traits that aid in its survival and those traits changed as the survival conditioned changed.

Also life on earth started in the ocean, so the fact that life went from water, to ground, to air should be enough to prove evolution is real. Those small ass fish turned into a whole gyarados

Over the course of billions of years it gotta eventually get crazy
