Cole is good except his concepts themes and messages often suck horribly
KOD is so terribly executed man
KTT in a weird place now where Carti, Thug and Future get praised/supported more than Cole, Drake and Kendrick
been like that since ktt1 at least
but I also really don’t understand the level of vitriol that
What i never really got, even if you dont like his music or fans and think he's overrated and dont belong in the big 3. The level of hate he gets you would think he's a completely unlikable person

Lying >>>
I've said this before but how Cole managed to set our expectations so high without ever meeting them before is the most self-defeating s*** I've ever seen.
But I got over that quickly and just enjoy the stuff I enjoy on there. Same as the EP. His flaws are at least interesting.

tbh carti thug future all get s*** on these days lol

Future gets glazed 24/7 man.
And niggas saying that MUSIC was a good album with replay value.
Most unremarkable rapper to touch the mic in a min.
I'll give him credit for milking a 10+ yr, commercially viable career tho.
"Big Three" push was all label propaganda to give niggas like him legs...
Future gets glazed 24/7 man.

we not hating enough then
I felt this way about this Cole album that I felt about all the other ones
Cool album. Some tracks I’ll go back to. Some trash. I wish Cole had more energy and variance in his delivery and a better ear for beats
But if you’re a huge Cole fan already I’m sure you love this s***. And ultimately he has a fan base that’s big enough that that’s all he needs
With all the hype I thought he’d make an undeniable classic that Cole critics/skeptics would enjoy but he made a Cole album for Cole fans and that’s fine. There’s more than enough music in my phone. Anything new is a bonus atp
but I also really don’t understand the level of vitriol that

Probably the most regular mainstream rapper out. Sometimes I side eye peeps that have a personal issue with him
Don't feel for Cole, feel bad for the ones that need to retell the same jokes. They're the real losers
Ye Cole hate still hilarious
but I also really don’t understand the level of vitriol that

It’s because he sells enough records, and has enough loud annoying fans in media that he ends up in conversations he doesn’t belong in
That’s basically the long and short of it
If he did Big Sean numbers (which are still fantastic, mind you) the hate wouldn’t be there
I feel like the album isn’t even bad
The perception of Cole after that battle is making the album seem worse than it is
The hate is overblown and I say this as somebody who frequently s***s on Cole and his dorky ass fanbase.
The album is definitely filled with the worst kind of J.Cole-isms and the long ass runtime with few features doesn't do much to break up some of the monotony. But when the album is good, the production being the highlight and his talent as a rapper is on display, it shines.
Album is a 7/10, maybe 6/10 at its worst. It's not a bad album, but it's definitely not going to convince the most avid Cole hater.
facts well said

Cap
The album is being received poorly because it was hyped up for years and years, and it’s being billed as his final album and because Cole said it was his Reasonable Doubt. Most people have moved past the battle/apology
Drake got the same treatment when he dropped CLB (overhyped album that wound up being a solid standard Drake album)
