  • I mean it's two things. The first is just stan culture which we've seen plenty of. That's pretty easy to look past for the most part. The second is disappointed people with valid criticisms because this album has been hyped for 10 years. Both these things are mixing together though, and that's what you're seeing most likely.

Cole doesn’t seem like a big internet guy and the hate trend is almost exclusively from people who live online so he probably is okay

Album is not bad. Some of the hate online is crazy but for the most part, the fans are happy.

Growing up my friend group was always full of Cole fans and I was only known as the resident Cole hater. Besides Forest Hills Drive really, I was always super critical of his albums, made the NyQuil jokes, said most of his discography was mid. In 2026, I still generally feel the same about his discography as a whole, but after seeing him perform at Dreamville Festival four years straight I do have to admit my respect for the guy has gone up a lot (went back down a little after you-know-what), even if I still think his album output ain’t all that.

Which brings us to The Fall-Off. Do I think the album sounds like the ten-years-in-the-making magnum opus retirement classic that he played it up to be? Absolutely not. I think it’s a good album overall, but the hallmark Cole flaws are on full display for most of its runtime.

But damn. The way people been talking about this s*** online the last 24 hours, you would think this guy dropped an album as bad as Teenage Emotions

I can’t lie, some of the jokes do still get a chuckle out of me

But on the other hand, it does feel like people just outright hate the nigga no matter what he does. To an extent, I get it, I’m not the biggest fan of his work overall, but I also really don’t understand the level of vitriol that seems to be directed towards him nowadays

    It’s kinda Coles fault tho

He confidently hyped this thing up to the point that even his haters weren’t doubting it was gonna be a classic

no lool Kendrick can literally drop anything and its a 45 page thread with Drake memes and blind praise.

  • Prison Mike

I feel like the album isn’t even bad
The perception of Cole after that battle is making the album seem worse than it is

Hard to take him saying "Im the best rapper" seriously.

  • I don’t he’s been dropping underwhelming albums for a decade plus now

  • he made no role modelz tho

  • WeezyFthugga

just wish he didnt hype this album for so long

  • Fall-Off is a decent 7/10 that happens to be 100+ minutes long for no reason and that drags it down
