damn dude you was like 14 when we all migrated here
damn yall were grown by then eh
I used to look up first impressions threads and the discord I was in had ktt users who would talk ab it like of legend I was surprised when I got active years later that there weren’t many new users past the migration
Donnt think its dead, when i want to talk about it then i make threads and then we talk about it. When big stars drop , others go missing, so there is less to talk
About.
Unfortunately
For
Us
We dont
Care about most of the big stars dropping as of late besides drake. So yes it is slowed

Nah I wasn’t even in my 20s yet
Or maybe I was
Not that grown lol
also reddit and discord killed forums
Music discourse no longer fun because it always ends up being sales instead of artistic merit lmao
@CutiePieHole @passing_the_time @Q3D @hayabusa @FKAemj @majorinsider let's contribute
@hayabusa hello?
Ktt2 turned to uncs
Uncs still have discourse, truth be told the mods ruined the site
Remove “discourse” out the title and yes @op
There’s just not that much going on in music on a regular basis cuz there’s just much less big time artists compared to past eras and barely any mid tier artists cuz there’s no money in it anymore so there’s no real label money behind artists that aren’t super stars
It’s a dying industry

we keep saying stuff like this but I feel like it's a symptom for a bigger reason. like the cultural rot in america has gotten too deep

Well the adhd/ppl glued to their phones and not impressed by anything anymore thing has a whole lot to do with it fo sho

that's a great way to put it. our attention spans are truly too fried to give a s*** about anything anymore. soon people will be too fried to even do minimal exercise
let's come up with new fun topics
New fun artists*
Labels are too far in with their rosters, only care about numbers
So we have to keep hearing the same guys over and over on a mainstream level
Like for example j cole and big Sean didn’t get a deal based on their “views”

New fun fans*
I feel like the majority of "music fans" genuinely don't care about music or even have good taste, so it creates this feedback loop of no good artists ever getting famous cause there's not enough people that can identify actual talent anymore or care about. real talent just makes the mediocre masses feel insecure about themselves.
imagine MJ trying to come up nowadays. people would call him cringe for dancing on IG reels

There’s truth but people aren’t closed off to dope ish if they’re exposed to it. My opinion is that they are programmed to like the bs especially with algorithm based consumption. I used to watch mtv jams and music choice everyday until blogs opened my mind to more types of music.
I like my rap game without a hard divide between niggas who can rap and make intricate cohesive projects and the people with the most visibility making vapid bullshit lol
Word to The Cool Graduation Blueprint GKMC and other mainstream cohesive classic rap albums and the switch around 2015-2017 when this line was drawn where all the good s*** in rap was stuffed down some reddit rabbit hole
Encouraging this divide is validating people like Lyor Cohen when he stops Lupe’s original Lasers from coming out until Lupe turns it into generic pop NBA 2k rap music
Record labels in general goal is to dumb down the population not make them question . Lyor cohen is guilty but they don’t look like us or care about us . They were always going to make the music bullshit . Even if tik tok and social media crashed . If they didn’t exist record labels still don’t want music that leads to us questioning power structures they are invested in
How about y'all talk about some albums or artists you like that are "out of the ordinary" for usual KTT chatter?
I relistened to Flatbush Zombies Vacation In Hell and it's still some good s***. Meechy and Juice supposedly gotta group album coming under the name 2 Dead Boys. Hope it'll be good, but I'm more interested in a FBZ reunion with Erick, Meechy, and Juice.
Flatbush Zombies was my first ever concert when they were touring in 2013 for the BetterOffDead mixtape. That show was so raw. I also loved the Underachievers, wonder how their pseudo-conspiracy s*** would sound today

How did music consumption change in 2015-2017
Get with the times buddy because that s*** doesn’t exist anymore
And no it doesn’t validate lyor cohen just cuz u said so
Oh s*** he admits it.
