quotables dont rly equate to a bar being good or making u a good lyricist tbh
There’s not a uniform way to be lyrical**, there are singer/song writers I consider way more profound than any rapper lyrically
You want to take Biggie off the list because he gets too much credit for his “untimely passing”, but leave Pac on because he’s “larger than life.”
What?
Call Jay Z mid in your own words, but leave him on for being a pop culture and political icon married to Beyoncé. I cannot figure out what metrics you are using to make your top 5 list dude.

facts, im just saying having a quotable bar that everyone's repeating irl doesn't necessarily making it a dope bar imo
what would u say ye's most quotable bars r tho?
And that's why I'm…
Seven o'clock, that's primetime
Heaven'll watch, God calling from the hotlines
Why he keep giving me hot lines?
I'm a star, how could I not shine?
You know the rest!!
When you say “_ isn’t good to me but I put them on the list anyway” it just means you’re p****

generally I agree
3k is definitely a better rapper than ye so idk what you are basing this criteria on.
That’s true, but not having enough solo work hurts 3K IMO. If he had solo albums he would probably be top 3 for me. I’m basing it off Discography, consistency, lyricism, etc.
Prime Eminem is a top 1 rapper, but I got him in tier 2 because he has consistency and quality issues late in his career.
agreed but what would your top 5 be pen wise
personally i'd go Nas, 3k, Biggie, prime Wayne, Mos Def
Ghostface
Raekwon
Method Man
GZA
ODB

And Jay Z doesn't?
Man gave us BP3 and MCHG

If he didn’t give us 4:44 I’d put him in tier 2. He barely made it tbh.

Cant argue with that
There’s no way we can put Kanye in a Top 5 or 10 as a rapper. As a rap artist? The GOAT IMO. But being an MC isn’t his forte, idk how you can put him above Biggie
If one gotta go outta Big and Pac it's absolutely Pac. And it ain't close
Pac possessed that unmatched passion & drive… that’s what made him special. Talented as f*** on the mic forsure but his strength was his passion and the emotion that he poured in. Even tho he’s more special to me, there’s no way he could hold a pen to biggie’s word play & technical abilities

Ahead of Dr Dre? The man that brought us NWA, introduced G Funk, and gave us Eminem, Snoop, Game, and Kendrick?

for my taste and in my opinion, yeah — solely because there’s not a Kanye album (well… other than Ye) that I dont absolutely love (yes, I know, even Jesus is King
). But i can understand Dre being the one competitor / frontrunner for that top spot. His impact and abilities are definitely unrivaled

See I’m perfectly fine with someone not including Ye in there universal whatever, but the implication that his rapping is inferior particularly during his “prime” is is ridiculous to me, you can disqualify him for writers but that’s it
