its amazing what you can get away with when you have a mysterious public persona and decent music

Collectors lol the same people that buy any expensive art
I understand that $1500 is a lot for the vinyl set but damn anytime and artist drops a record for more than $40 people on here act like they’re the scum of the earth lol
Mfs think it’s a human right to own vinyl 🤣

Nobody's saying they have a right to own vinyl
But C'mon man
Even at 40 a vinyl that's still only $520
Not 3 times that but in a milk crate with $20 of carabiners and a rope, i get it is being sold as a collector's item but for him to throw it in a milk crate damn near feels like co-opting a working person's aesthetic while selling it as a luxury atp
Hov definitely be on that Diddy 'I gotta use some hand sanitiser, I was just around the poors
' energy when he gets back into his chauffeur driven car
There's no reason to defend Hov's money grubbing ass, it's fine to be a fan of the music while accepting that he worships money, dude basically models his public persona and presentation after Robert Greene books
whyd he make this s*** 300 like genuinely if it was $150-200 id prob go for it
insane to pay more than ten dollars for a cassette but f*** it and still he dont wanna give us even that

If he was really about his paper, he would've added an extra/empty slot labelled 'Coming Soon
'
these artist are f***ing delusional
just like when travis reissued his rodeo action figure for $200 like dawg, these action figures were literally ten dollars tops when you were growing up like are you for f***ing real
these cassettes were $2.5 when hov was growing up, $5 was a fleece. why is this s*** 300 dollars like youre not starving bro

$40 for a record is a new thing, 2 lps used to be less than $30 pre covid, the production costs are literally the same and the technology has only become more in demand in the last few years
there is quite literally zero reason two lps are $60 now except for the fact that labels are weaponizing physicals to extract as much money out of fans buying up sixty different versions of an album as possible. the markup is like 2.5 times the production cost if not more for no reason
remember Nipsey dropped a $1000 mixtape
highk i full on blame mach hommy navy blue and westside gunn for this f*** s*** and for giving hov and other mainstream artists ideas. id blame nipsey too but hes not here to see the negative impact of crenshaw
there are underground rappers right now with a fraction of listeners that these other rappers have and they make sure theres always records in stock for a reasonable price in diff colors. it is completely possible to do that and remain in the green with catalogs as big as theirs

Why is it so hard not to shill ?
this is the reason why we all gotta pay absurd taxes, because some mfs obliged at first

I literally said I understand it’s a lot for the Jay Z set lol
Both dope as hell. I want a CD version. This campaign is dope. Yall hating on the price but ignoring that stuff like this is part of why Hov is the goat. The prestige his catalog holds is unmatched.
