Atlanta is full of trash rappers, copying each other. I'm not saying all rappers from Atlanta are trash because there are quality stuff out there, but most of it is low-quality bs.
We need more Outkast and less trap garbage.

Thug's not to blame for that though lol. There's a reason people generally like Thug more than any of his clones. People respect the originator.
It's really artists that came after Thug from around 2018 onwards that are responsible for the meme-ification of rap.
Blaming Thug for the decline in mainstream rap is wild because Thug was popping in 2014-2015 when we got some of the best rap in history. Pinata, Cilvia Demo, TPAB, Summertime 06, Oxymoron, etc.

A classic in its own lane same way kiss me through the phone is. Too bad kids (including me) started thinking being great and always improving your craft was being too much and lame.
We need a balance of different avenues hitting mainstream in hip hop. Kendrick can't carry everything
Jun 5, 2024·editedpimpinI wish buddy luck and success, just not on Kendrick’s shoulders. Kendrick’s on a whole different level and if he’s doing a collab album, it should be with Cole or maybe Frank Ocean. Anything else is just a waste of time.
Theres almost no way its a collab album. If Roddy and Dot had an album together, then why didn't Roddy drop a song off that as the first single?
But I've been saying I hope we finally get to hear Kendrick over Tyler production, and hear him collaborate with Andre 3K, Lauryn, Black Thought, Frank Ocean, Thom Yorke and/or Nas (hopefully we get to hear that Prince collab too)
If we get any or all of that Dot can legit retire and drop flute albums for the rest of his life and I'd be cool (I'd be cool if he did that now but you know what I mean)
