nah im convinced @hotpancakes was trolling with that post it's no way that was 100% serious
It’s not even the worst thing itt
i said this in another thread but
twitter, as a private company, has every right to ban whoever they want
however, they are also at a point where they are so large and important to our society, there should be some protections in place to keep this from happening
twitter is how world leaders deliver news now.
banning trump from twitter is like banning americans from receiving mail. what if a major decision is made before biden is in office?
Well said. Sure, twitter is private + has its own terms and agreements, but it has essentially become a place to receive news and updates in real time, whether you like the person or not. Trumps going to reach his followers regardless. I don’t feel like this ban served any real purpose. If he wanted to do another Jan 6 event, he wouldn’t need twitter to do it
Shut the f*** up please
thank you durag jesus for your smart and well informed argument

Maybe.
I know if Andrew Yang got banned from social media he would be out in full force.

He can release a f***ing press release like Presidents used to do before Twitter existed. He could go on Fox News. I’m sure anyone there will listen to him ramble like he always does.
He has plenty of other avenues to reach people. He is just being punished right now like everyone else can be for breaking twitter’s rules. He has more outlets to speech than the the average citizen.
90% of the twitter user base gotta be mentally challenged or something. Everybody should be banned off that s*** anyway
to everyone here that doesn't understand the modern dynamic between social media (big tech, in a broader sense) and freedom of speech, please read this:
medium.com/craft-ventures/section-230-mend-it-dont-end-it-e33799a43a5f
He means big tech has become too powerful and its time to break up these monopolies who can band together when needed just to further their own agendas.
deep
Banning Trump from Twitter is not like banning mail lmao what are you talking about.
If he makes any big changes he can communicate that without Twitter you know there were presidents before social media right?
yes but the world has changed since then
there were presidents before tv but TV changed the way they delivered news
just incase it was 100% serious tho:

Nvm i read it again jesus wtf

Wasn't there some statistic that a majority of the tweets everyday come from a small majority of super-users? Think I saw it from KTTT

Again, how have presidents before trump delivered important messages?
Terrorist sympathizer lol you should go back and read about what was going on when you were in elementary school
https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1347600732686528513So u support the crackers on parler wanting to shoot up the capitol, killing cops and anyone in their way.
You do you
Again, how have presidents before trump delivered important messages?
right but again, the world has changed since then.
back in the 1800s they delivered with with telegrams lol
we don’t do that now though
Multinational giant tech corporations getting themselves involved in politics is never a good idea. Its only a matter of time before they start limiting voices who dont share other their interests. Doesnt change the fact Trump is an absolute s***head and should be held responsible for all the terrible decisions and not so subtle dog whistles he made.
it's literally all about his person lmao
if another horrible person did s*** like him and it happened i'd support it too
Wasn't there some statistic that a majority of the tweets everyday come from a small majority of super-users? Think I saw it from KTTT

Less than 10% of americans are on twitter the tweets dont bring the news it’s when they’re shown on tv that people learn about it
Apples and oranges. AOC was sued because it is unlawful for an account of official purposes to exclude people in an online dialogue. Which, iirc, happened to Trump as well. It has nothing to do with "press media".
That is law. Twitter's ToS is different. If you break Twitter's rules, they have grounds to remove you from that service. It doesn't matter who you are. Trump broke Twitter's ToS (among other sites'), he was banned. There is no law preventing that.
I’m not trying to dispute their TOS, I just believe that they need to be held more accountable for what they publish in the same way that the press is.
At the end of the day, it is on Trump, but this raises a good point about Twitter’s role in the media.
right but again, the world has changed since then.

Are we in the age past televisions? Are we in the age past YouTube? There is nothing stopping Trump from communicating to the American people
