Oblivion XIn a ton of the studies speaking bout the downside of spankings they list a counter argument and limitation on their study that being too many uncounted variables and the actual upsides of pain. There was one posted in the life section last time this debate started
i hate to be this guy but i took a class on child developmental psychology last semester and i'm in a class right now about the psychological effects of child abuse and maltreatment
spanking is universally decried bro. there is no academic support for it. the APA, pediatric association, etc. do not support it

Delete this nowMine did. I had my favorite toy guitar snapped in half and continually beat over my bare ass until it bled. I had to pick a switch off the tree in the backyard. I got smacked across the mouth and ass repeatedly. And my parents took me to therapy when I was 12 and up because of my ADHD that was making me act out and causing me to get hit and they stopped hitting me after those meetings with my parents and the psychiatrist took place. My parents still loved me and took care of me but I was a b**** to put up with esp since the discipline early on ramped up my defiance. Now do you wanna tell me how soft my upbringing was and how that made me think this way?

No, they won’t. They’ll have a relationship of love and trust because your job when you are a parent is to protect them and help them become an adult not control and abuse them. It’s very simple, very clear, well studied.

This ain’t some stuff u can study. I don’t see nothing wrong with this form of discipline. I’m not the type who would hurt a child and leave a bruise and a spanking isn’t going to leave a long lasting impression on a kid. It might not be black n white and if you got spanked it doesn't really mean your parents did a bad job overall but there are obviously still ways to improve, right? Normalizing this even on a smaller grade can lead to some other people taking it to more severe levels thinking they're not doing anything wrong etc. Just really a bad parenting method in the end of day
